Spent 2 nights here.Reasonably expensive-$NZ280 per night and despite holidays occupancy less than 50%.Had booked room only but on checkin got the continental brekkie and wifi thrown in.It is a 1 bedroom apartment but no washer/dryer or cooktop.Old TV in living room only and despite a large bathroom a shower only which manages to spread water right across the room.
However very comfortable and slept well.Had dinner first night-limited menu but very good.So some pics-

Returning to the area I would probably try somewhere else.

For comparison only, and admittedly a few years ago now....

In December 06 we stayed at the Chateau Marlborough hotel for NZ$180/nt in an executive suite. Was a large room and very comfortable, reasonably quiet. Probably the best of the hotels we stayed at in NZ actually.....

Marlborough is lacking in good quality lodging. Shame that a high end boutique style hotel didn't ride on the back of the Marlborough Savvy-B wave (but now thats coming to an end, I doubt we will see much activity in this area).

Shame, because in a couple of weeks my partner and I will be driving up from CHC to WLG with a brief stop in both Nelson & Marlborough! Any suggestions?

As to the cost this was the first week of NZ school holidays so peak season-in early december it was much cheaper. But claiming to be 5 star and not having flat screen TV or a tub lets it down.It does appear that units are individually owned as 1 I could see into did have a flat screen. There also is an area where 4 more units were to be built but obviously the GFC has put it of.
I still enjoyed the stay but if back in the area I would stay somewhere else-but would have to do some more research.Loved the area and the food.
As for Nelson I will be doing a report in the next couple of days about our stay there.
