Our driver has requested a room at the front that has a garden setting and unobstructed views down the valley. There are rooms up higher that are twice the price & apparently do not justify the price difference. Apart from some Danish rug rats running around the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] afternoon, this is a quiet retreat. The shower is the best so far with excellent pressure & hot water, everything is very clean. The bathroom also has hand towels that we had not received before. There is a tv with patchy picture (good enough to see part of the Aussies lose a 50 over game to India) and the wifi works ok up in the general viewing deck & you can use their computer & printer. The bed is a very hard "asian" model. Food is good & the toast has been getting progressively darker as we progress. Staff are friendly (again) & our wine put in their fridge comes out nicely chilled-no thoughts of corkage in Sri Lanka yet! Beers are also nice & cold (330rp including tax for 625ml-pretty common price).
Dinner on the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] night was during a blackout-cooking is by gas so the chicken & veggies was fine & we ate by candlelight.
Big comfortable room
Best shower pressure we had encountered
View from our room
Makeshift clothes line
