Naggar Castle seems to be the centrepiece of a thriving village with quite a few small craft shops, other lodgings, restaurants, bakery, booze shop & tour guide outlets.
Naggar Castle is stone & timber building run by the Govt that dates from around 1460. It has accommodation, a restaurant open to the public and the public are free to wander the grounds (Jagatipatt temple, museum etc) and there are small gates to protect the privacy of people staying in the rooms. There was a wedding in the hotel grounds the night we were there-huge cooking pots were in use to feed the guests. The hotel restaurant provides good food & is comfortable although it was too cold to sit out on the balcony while we were there. We stayed in the Her Highness suite. It has great views of the peaks, Beas river & Kullu Valley, plenty of space and is clean and comfortable. We were provided with a heater that did an adequate job.
