Sheraton on the Park Sydney is located in Elizabeth St, opposite Hyde Park. My taxi pulled into the driveway and the porter came by to assist me with my luggage. As I walk into the entrance, there is a grand feeling about this place.

I headed over to the check in counter and was greeted by Chau - her smile and enthusiasm made my arrival felt welcomed. The check in process was fast and efficient and she thanked me for being an elite member. She also said that they have upgraded me to a ‘very’ nice room and I asked if that would be a suite. She responded with “You will not be disappointed Mr Chow. You will like our Deluxe Terrace Suite”.

The room is located at level 17 and it is at the far end from the elevator. As I opened the door and had the first glimpse of the suite, I was gobsmacked! A round dining table with 6 chairs? As i kept walking into the suite, there is a separate toilet to the left of the entrance and further into the room, a massive lounge with a curve sofa to the left and a separate bedroom to my right. The bedroom is spacious and had a separate closet area. The bathroom itself, again is spacious, with the bath in between the shower and toilet. The other interesting find was the Hermes toiletries (it’s not as spectacular compared to the one by Ben @ One Mile at a Time with his stay at Le Parker Meridien in Palm Spring) but it did brought a smile on my face. The suite has 3 separate balconies (room, dining area and the lounge) all overlooking Hyde Park.

Platinum member have access to the Sheraton Lounge on Level 21 and I arrived just over their evening hors d’ oeuvres but I did have my breakfast here in the morning. The spread was good - cereal, toast, fruits and a few selection of hot dishes in the like of pancakes, bacon and eggs muffin and chicken waffles.

Other facilities in the hotel including On the Park Rejuvenation spa and the rooftop pool located in level 22. All guest have access to the sauna and steam room in the spa.

As a single traveller for this short work trip (only a day), I find the room too spacious but if you are travelling with a +1, this can be a great room to spend a few days in. Overall, I had a great stay.

Great review, and nice to see the room shots. I stay in the SotP often but usually in a cheap-as-chips city view room at the back, nice to see how the other half live :)

If you stay often you should join SPG and go for Plat status. SOTP is very generous with standard suite upgrades. Terrace and Hyde Park Suites are less common upgrades but can still get them from time to time.

The OP is a platinum member.
But as a platinum member I am more likely to be like opusman on the city side or even just on the side with a beautiful view of a concrete wall.

Lucky you, OP.

I haven't stayed at SOTP for several years since a terrible stay that included gems such as delivering my bags to the wrong room and then being unable to find them for 3 hours, and telling me at 6.30pm on a Sunday night in a half-empty restaurant that I couldn't have dinner there because the empty tables were already set for breakfast and that I would have to have room service if I wanted to eat in the hotel (and then making me wait an hour for room service):shock:

Looks very nice, we weren't as lucky in July with our room being upgraded to look over the park, but not as far from the elevators so not that big... and with 4 of us and 1 bed it was a bit annoying, but you win some you lose some (also SPG Plat).

Love the pool on the top though, and spent quite a bit of time in the steam room. Compared to the Westin down the road the health club is leaps and bounds better in the Sheraton.

Had an amazing buffet lunch there on a one day conference a couple of years ago

SOTP used to be our favourite hotel, for shopping trips to Sydney, but have changed to Westin or Four Seasons now. Just seemed to have run down a bit in service etc. The club used to be a very pleasant place to have a drink before heading out to dinner, but particularly on a Saturday night it is just too crowded.

Just checked in for another two night stay.
Location for me is excellent, most meetings are on Pitt Street, love the train station across the street.

No upgrade today, but corner room with nice view.
I'm SPG Plat and do have a generous contractor who negotiates very good rates with Starwood.

Taking a client upstairs for drinks tonight, bringing a mate along tomorrow night.

Next week is Westin Singapore, then Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok and Sheraton Tower Singapore; always treated well at SPG. I'm lazy when it comes to loyalty, only have two loyalty programs SPG and Qantas, that does me for 90% of what I do in life. Great promotion with Sheraton on the go, stay 5 nights, get a night free. I'll rack up 10 nights, then give my son and his gf a weekend at Sheraton Surfers or Noosa on the house.

Cheers
BF

May see you tomorrow in the lounge ;)
If you are are travelling solo, I'm free tomorrow (Mon) evening if you would like to catch up for a drink and a meal somewhere nearby :)

This! It isn't the fanciest pool or the pool with the best views, but there is just something about that pool that is fantastic.
