Dep MEL 1930 arr SYD 2055 DJ885 is operating as an Airbus A330 currently. [-](These details are correct, not the title.)[/-]

Misha and myself have booked on this flight, there has been sales for this flight recently and anyonebody else who would like to join us as we try Virgin's new A330 (Without going to PER) is more than welcome to come. The bigger the better!!

The price as at 1800 08/04 is $79 each way. (Insert Disclaimers (#@#***%*&^) here.)

Please let us know if you would be attending, and your flight details, if you can guest and any other relevant information.

Look forward to seeing you all and trying Virgin's brand new A330!

Liam R.

Ooops.

Just a clarification - Misha is on the 19.30 departing Melbourne, arriving Sydney 20.55 ???

Perhaps - we will all need to wave to eachother as we pass one another in the sky?:?::?:

PS: First time in my life I lucked out with a Happy Hour fare - mine was $65 :)

Oh, so your going MEL-SYD... the other way? I haven't booked mine yet... Good thing too. :D

Hahahaha!

This is typical for me - world's most disorganised person :)

Well if I am on the flight being the sole rep from AFF I will let people know how it is... ;)

Have to dash - am now 20 mins late for a dinner in St Kilda :(

Virgin Blue, can you confirm that these flights are not an error?

One leaves Melbourne as the other leaves Sydney at the same time? Even with two aircraft it still makes no sense, nor is it possible. It arrives from PER at 7pm, so at least 8pm before it could go to MEL, but with the curfew and everything, its not quite possible to make it back into yssy for the morning SYD-PER.

I'm interested...

But do (also) want clarification it is the right plane.

I wonder if I can add a Flounge visit somewhere in there? ;)

NOTE that the date conflicts with OZFEST (in Darwin, arranged by Flyertalk members), so quite a few of the "regulars" will be occupied.

PM'ed Virgin Blue re: If this is really an A330 flight. Will let everybody know when I find out.

So your attendance at Ozfest is at <5%

I will be attending Ozfest; flights booked so I won't be able to to test out the DJ A330s until at least July.

Hmmm, sounds like bad timing. Maybe its worth re-scheduling to another Saturday..

hmmm...

...am back from dinner - shame noone else will be able to make it - though I quite like the idea of being one of the first from here on the new bird ;)

If DJ885 on 28th May is an A330 I'll probably book it in, and if so I'll fly SYD-MEL on JQ35, another A330. :)

FYI, as of this morning (10:00am Monday 11th April) the Virgin Blue website (through the booking engine) is still showing the above flight from Melbourne at 19.30 as being operated by the A330.

Heads up....

Update.

After speaking with Virgin Blue, they have advised me that the flights showing on the web site as A330 SYD-MEL-SYD flights, are indeed flights on their new Bird, the A330!

This is of course, subject to approval, last moment aircraft swap ect...

I've just booked it in - JQ35 down to MEL and then DJ885 back up to SYD. Hopefully no equipment changes. :)

...and then there were three!

now up to liam to arrange a little gift for AFF pax from VB ;)
