All, I'm just planning way ahead here as is required in the rail world, considering moving BAM1748 from Sydney to Canberra on Good Friday next year, gives an opportunity for people to come for a social beer and and combine the glory days of travel with 21st Century travel.

Gauging the interest among AFF'ers. It would be an all day event and with a cost to cover the beverages and food.

For those not familiar with BAM travel..... AFF'ers day out - Nov 14 2010 - a set on Flickr

If you're interested let me know.

cheers

Matt
ps not likely to be steam hauled this time.

Great idea BAM1748, I unfortunately missed 2010, and alas have accommodation booked in CHC for Easter 2013, though that trip is nothing definite at this stage. I will follow this in case NZ falls through for any reason.

Damn! I will be working on the Good Friday Appeal in Melbourne so unable to attend.

To those that haven't been, it's fantastic! great way to travel!

Nick

Count me as interested!

(There may be something else happening at Easter, so can't 100% commit just yet)

I'm quite interested - really enjoyed 2010. What is a likely consist?

I would be most definitely interested; however, I have already booked for Japan this Easter. :(

I am very interested, I was a jealous reading about the last event :)

However, I am also probably going to Japan for Easter :(

I think I'm also going to Japan for Easter :)

Fancy that :p

I haven't ticketed anything yet, but am leaning towards doing so shortly... someone took all the JASA seats :o

Definitely interested - trains are a second favourite for me after aircraft :P

I miss the view out the front window, though, as I don't care much for looking out the sides.

Hi, possibly two other private cars plus my own, not sure what diesel locomotive yet. (BAM1748, BAM1741 and CDAY1)

I would be interested, especially if it's ALCo power on the point.

Hi gunzel, motive power unknown at this stage, ALCO would be good as would GM but I just don't know yet.

to see a shot of the train look at Nov issue of Railway Digest showing the CFCLA AC traction loco hauling the 3 car passenger train into Sydney Terminal. They are the 3 cars.

Matt
Ps, only AFF gunzels allowed on the private cars....

Definitely not going anywhere near Japan for Easter.

I would be interested. Does it also mean that we have to make our own way back from Canberra?

Definitely interested and I have a friend who is a MASSIVE train buff (we recently took the Silver Bullet to the Toowoomba flower show), so even if I have troubles getting along, I'll hopefully send him as my delegate, if acceptable! :D

Yep, it's a way of enjoying trains and planes.
