Following http://www.australianfrequentflyer....vents/aff-gathering-6-ideas-2012-a-35230.html, the Gold Coast has won by a fair margin. While this may be seen as the wrong decision due to options being left off the poll, the fact remains a third of (or 13) members chose the Gold Coast as the winning location. Creating additional polls and more debate would only increase the pressure on organisers for the event this year as time runs out. Therefore, the Gold Coast is it (and I was hoping for Hobart personally)!
With the winning location chosen, we need to select dates. In the past the gathering has been held thrice in October, once in November and once in August.
AFF#5 CBR - October 7 - 9
AFF#4 BNE - October 22 - 24
AFF#3 SYD - October 23 - 25
AFF#2 ADL - November 28 - 30
AFF#1 MEL - August 1 - 3
Prospective dates (respective state school holidays (TAS is weird) and both AFL and NRL GF noted):

The average temperatures of the Gold Coast for the months above are 14.8 - 23.8ºC in September, 16.9 - 25.5ºC in October and 18.8 - 26.6ºC in November.
If you could vote in the poll to help choose dates that would be very helpful. Please try and limit comments about the Gold Coast not being the city you would have chosen/boycotting to somewhere else!
Also, if you would like to be involved in helping to organise activities, dinners, bars, suggestions for things to do etc, please shout out. I don’t really want to be left alone here, but I did want to make sure this great annual event doesn’t end so soon because of a little disagreement on locations.
I promise next year we can have a poll with a hundred options (or 10 threads with 10 options)!
