Over on Flyertalk a very successful gathering has been occurring for the last 8 years. This years event will be held in Canberra from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 May 2012.

Currently we have 51 confirmed attendees. Mwenenzi does a very diligent job of keeping a list of who is attending.

Serfty has compiled a list of flight information: OzFest 9: May 2012 - Flights

*A Flyer has organised a great sounding itinerary for the weekend.

The reason I have put a thread on AFF as a few of you may have given up on Flyertalk and may have remembered the event is on but forgot all about it.

Ozfest Eventbee Registration,

With a number this big then you need the help of a website link Eventbee to work out who is doing what.

This where I come in.

Booking and Payment Arrangements

All registration is through EventBee and is not confirmed until payment is received. Payment can be made in three ways, direct deposit to the OzFest bank account, credit card processed by BundyBear (see below) or Paypal. The prices quoted on EventBee are the higher Paypal prices. To obtain the cheaper direct deposit (3.9% less) or Bundy Bear credit card (2.9% less) prices you must use a discount code. To get the direct deposit prices quote above use discount code CASH. Bundy Bear's credit card processing costs approximately 1% more than direct deposit; please use discount code RUM. The discounted prices will appear once the discount code is entered on the ticket purchase page. These prices are set to cover the costs of processing payments as is the standard practice in Australia. Please note that EventBee charges $1.20 per ticket which will be added to your total.

Once you have registered, you will receive an email with further instructions to effect payment.

To guarantee attendance at the other events (eg dinners), registration and payment must be completed by 21 May. Any registrations after those dates will be subject to clearance by revenue management.

Bundy Bear's Credit Card Processing

Bundy Bear has happily agreed to process credit card payments for OzFest participant's through his business. As noted above, a fee of approximately 1% applies for this service and payment may be made by VISA, Mastercard or American Express.

If you choose to use this service, contact details will be provided in your confirmation email. It will be possible to provide your credit card details by phone, email or Private Message through FlyerTalk or Australian Frequent Flyer.

If you are going to do the credit card part via phone can you first send me the email confirmation, it gives me something to write on, and how much I have to charge.

If you want to you can also send part of the credit card details with the email and the last few digits and expiry date via text message, so you don't even have to talk to me.

That should cover everything in 1 post.

Barring any major problems with work then you should see me sometime Saturday evening, so I guess I am 85% confirmed.

I should be in for the drinks and dinner on Friday night.

I will be attending my first OzFest. Registered and Paid.

I am attending all events, although will be late to Friday drinks as I only arrive at 18:55 on QF 742

Alas flights MEL-CBR-MEL for that w/end are nearing $300 return now.

Add that to the cost of a hotel, and the events, and it's nearing a $900 weekend.

Would love to come but at that price it's a little steep unfortunately :(

(unless anyone in MEL is willing to drive to/from CBR with me and share a hotel room and split the costs. Driving is going to be considerably cheaper at this stage and i've been meaning to take my car on a road trip since I bought her anyway ;))

You ask me now?

I would love a road trip, but already have flights, and have paid for Friday dinner, so that won't work this time.

If you are seriously interested I might be able to help out a bit with share Accom (if they let me change my booking from queen/king to 2 doubles)

Eightblack is listed as attending, I seem to recall last year you considered attending Ozfest Darwin just to meet the infamous Eightblack.

Ok he isn't that funny in person but has a good sense of humour.

Now you actually book something in advance? ;)

I may end up doing the road trip no problems (I'll take Friday off so I can make the drinks and leave CBR around 5pm on the Sunday). If you are offering a room, i'll take it up I think (and possible skip some of the events and i'm happy to split the cost of accomm or provide you beverages in lieu ;) You doing all events?

Good memory:) I would love to meet the man himself.

Hrm let me assess my finances. My fAAvourite bankrupt owes me some cash (waiting on it to come through) so when that does I should be right.

I'm looking forward to attending - Oz Fest #9 will be my third event.
I wish I'd been involved earlier:)
