I have a looong layover in Sydney next week between arriving on the red-eye from AFF 10 and heading to SIN at 1900 hrs.

So I thought I would head into Sydney for lunch.

Anyone up for a bite to eat somewhere near a train station on the airport line?

I should be free for lunch, JT! I'm at Circular Quay so definitely on the train line but happy to relocate somewhere more central if that suits you better :)

I am a possible, depending on when the morning meetings end. The one downside of only working 3 days a week as I transition to retirement is how much my employers try to fit into a single day, but I am not really complaining.

I am near central, but easy enough to turn up at Circular Quay, from which trains also go to/from the airport. Nice views on a good day.

You never know what shade of copper I will be.

I will be eating lunch some number of thousands of feet above you in QF F, so consider me there in spirit, but not in person.

I reckon Circular Quay will do just nicely.

Confirming out for lunch as I am in Melbourne tomorrow working on a transaction. Coming up to Sydney in the afternoon.

Bummer.

Katy, would you like to suggest somewhere, and when? Doesn't have to be fancy, as I won't need a long lunch. It is a school day for most, too.

Luggage storage at Central Station - NSW TrainLink

So will have to get off train at central (usually platform23) lug it to luggage storage area which is down and up some stairs then some escalators to opposite Platform 1. Note luggage storage area is "landside"

I have never used this but its closer to Circular Quay:
https://www.baggagestorage.com.au/index.php/store-locator/2-store-location-country-aus-nz/store-locations-data-australia-nsw/137-circular-quay

Or do a DOM-INT tranfer and do an early checkin?

I am HLO so just want to avoid carrying 10kg too far. Baggagestorage.com.au is $9, so not worth it for the perceived convenience. Looks like it stays with me.

Ah, with HLO easier to keep on person. Escalators at both ends - airport and cirular quay. Lots of people with bags at CQ so you will blend in

Only 10kg in HLO? Maybe that's just the "nominal" weight.

I weighed my bag this morning and it was closer to 12, but that did have my laptop and its bag inside it for convenience.

Katy and I are meeting at 1230 or thereabouts. As she is coming from work I suspect we will stay close to CQ. OATEK, are you around?

Sorry, but I am in the naughty corner. Have not done what I ought to have done, and therefore no lunch for me.

Great to catch up, Katy. And thanks for arranging the entertainment. ;)

A rainbow lorikeet selected a packet of sugar from the bowl and then proceeded to pick at it while the lookout kept watch.
