Hi, apologies if this has been covered in the past, a quick search netted no results.

I was just wondering how many flights per year some AFFers take each year?

Last year I did a travel diary just for interest sake and hit 42 for the year. All domestic, all bar 4 on QF, always Y and usually discount Y fares. So SG is probably my status limit. (I look on with envy at everyone elses J experiences especially international)

Just curious as to others flight totals? Especially those with lofty WP and WP1 status!

Cheers,

Mick

There is usually a thread towards year end where people tell of their sectors, airlines, airports etc for the past year ... but I don't recall one last year!!

Me? For the past 6 or so years I have been averaging between 75 and 90 segments (flights) per year and between 180,000 and 320,000km per year (so a preponderance of long haul). Mostly in J, thank goodness :)

I only travel for holidays, so I am not even near a lot of others here. I did do a lot more flying last year, thanks to AFF :D In the end it was 8 domestic and 8 international flights, so a total of 16 flights :D No wonder people at work think I am always away on holidays :)

Full time worker, leisure flying only, but currently have around 35 sectors booked and will need another 10-12 before the end of the year!

Iin a past life where i was self employed and travelled frequently fior wirk i hit 132 segments one year. These days, employed by govt, most flights are self funded and they are usually overseas. This year looking at 30 sectirs

I'm >95% self-funded and do about 35-40 a year (mostly QF earning to get the status). Because it is self-funded I try to maximise earn on the flights I do take.

These days it seems to be averaging around the 15 sectors a year mark, however the majority tend to be long haul, it basically ends up being 3 OS trips per year, including a RTW, and quite a few of them are in classes better than Y.

Whilst I would love for it to be more frequent, I prefer the quality over the quantity I used to have which was 60 sectors PA, but mostly short hauls (CBR-MEL and CBR-SYD was my most popular), and always in Y.

138 sectors for me, but because 129 of those were on business my understanding is that they don't count on AFF so I can only offer up 9 for 2016.

:p

Just over 1900 life time, 29 so far this year, 2 to come tomorrow. Last year 131. The more I fly the less I like it, my tolerance is decreasing every time I ride the air currents.....

Last year managed 80 flights, about 70 of them just in QLD for work.
20 for this year so far.

We've flown/booked for this year - Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Bangkok, New Zealand, USA, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, and USA .... the year is young!

So far the tally is around 35 sectors... we means x 4 (family holidays) .... all leisure and all but 6 of those are international.

112 in 2016 and on the way to similar number this year. All in Y.

Must say it mostly sucks and is a means to an end, especially as 90% are at 0615..

It clearly sucks to be you !!! (Lol). :-)

Most of my flying is self funded, apart from the odd work trip here and there. I usually do 2 or 3 O/S sojourns a year. And I try to be creative to maximize SC. Not necessarily status runs, although I have done 1 or 2 of those in the US. Most of my sectors are in J. Last year I did 34 sectors of which only 6 were domestic.

This year have only done 6 so far, but have booked another 18, with plans for another 6 at the moment.

My partner is Peruvian and she resides between here, Lima and Miami. So that makes it complicated, but interesting for planning. I do love the planning part. I've done the transpac many times, either via SCL or LAX. She is Latam Black, AA Platinum and QF gold. I'm just QF WP and Latam Gold.

Average about 30 or so domestic for work (all in Y) and 12-15 leisure (domestic and international) mix of Y, Y+ and the occasional (but all too infrequent!!) J.

this got me thinking, so I checked my rolling 12 months. 21 Domestic flights (one day I flew BNE - ROK - MKY - BNE), and 6 international. So 27 all up.
all flights were with QF except one on EK CHC - SYD, and all bar 3 were revenue Fares, almost all were in J .
now if I hadn't checked, I would have confidently said i maybe flew 1015 times last year......

Last year ended up just shy of 80 sectors. By the end of march for this calendar year, I'll be at 21 (accounting for those not yet flown, but booked).
