What exactly does that mean. You either board or you don't. How does one "pre board". Literally it means you are still in the lounge. Pre - meaning "before" and board - meaning "getting on the plane" Is it just me that doesnt get it?

My idea of pre boarding usually involves French champagne and MEL or SYD F Lounge ;)

My view is that QF do it very inconsistently. They only have dedicated separate lane on widebody (sometimes) an virtually never have a pre/priority board on narrow body aircraft.

Meanwhile DJ have it religiously on every flight. I've taken 8 DJ flights recently due to the company travel policy and with my gold status match, an have had priority boarding every time.

QF need to AA style priority access at every gate, with the dedicated lanes/ropes and signage set up.

I stay in the lounge as long as possible till the general boarding rush is over then get onboard and then head upstairs where I can continue my pre-boarding ritual with another champagne

Even Tiger offer pre-boarding, you pay $6 I think, which may be worth it if you have a roll aboard to store and you don't want to elbow with all the rest of the gate lice.

From observations I've found that most people who would be eligible for 'preboarding' rarely turn up. I've seen one in the past 4 years when I've seen this (mind you rare occurrence). Prefer to maximise my time in the club.
