Should you happen to come across a QF 744 in unusual environs over the next few days (Manchester, Cardiff, Wales and Lyon), its VHOJS on a charter!

Interesting. Any idea as to the purpose of the charter?

My understanding is that QF will also do x2 charters for the post-olympics return (1x744 and 1x380).

Has this been confirmed yet?

Definitely the limpics then.
Nope, the Exclusive Brethern, apparently the truth should set you free!

im sure the exclusive (cult) brethren followers are glad their money is being used to charter 747s!!

slum it commercial with all the other 'charities'!!

Was going to ask how much heavy metal (widebody+) normally travels to CWL and LYS?

A few minutes on wiki later: Turns out the BA 744 base is at CWL (although runway is only 2392m). LYS looks like it gets mostly 737 sized aircraft although it has a 4000m runway.

I traveled SYD-LHR about a year ago en route to CAI, and a mate of mine was working F. We were in J and he gave me a tour of the A380. The ENTIRE, yes ENTIRE F cabin was full of the Brethren. In fact, he told me that are very CIP, so much so that crew are all briefed on who is on board and told to look after them very well.

He was amused at how they can be in F, but forbidden to watch any of the IFE.

While they may have been unnoticeable onboard, I chuckled watching them attempting to find the F Lounge at SIN.
