Question: I have familly pooling set up, with everyone pooling points and SCs to me. When someone else in this pool takes a flight, I know I get the points and SCs that they earn, but will I also get credited for the eligible sectors? Or do I still have to fly the required number of eligible sectors myself in order to move up status tiers?
The background to this is - I set up family pooling a while ago, but none of my family members have flown with VA since I did so. I now have an opportunity to gain enough SCs to go from red to Gold next month. However, I'm flying with EY, so I won't get any eligible sectors. I currently only have 2 eligible sectors, and they will be wiped before my return flight in December, so effecitvely I still need to get credit for 4 eligible sectors before moving up to Gold. I'm also booking domestic flights for my wife and kids to go and stay with the in laws when I'm away, so if I book them on VA, would their flights count as eligible sectors, and hence get me to Gold?
I have searched through this forum and the Velocity website but can't find an answer to this question, so I'd appreciate it if anyone can answer.
