This is a new offer!

Earn 50% more Status credits on flights around Australia
Book by 31st October
Fly between 11th October and 31st January 2014

Hopefully QF haven't "enhanced" the double SC offer to only 50% now ?

I am Plat, and have re-qualified for 2014 already and my status period ends 31st December

I have quite a few flights booked and a JASA, which I will need to cancel and re-book I think or just cancel totally! It was more of something to do, in-case I didn't re-qualify.

Then again I have a few more flights to book MEL-PER-MEL in J so the 50% extra SCs won't go astray

This will be good for Jan too for a few quick flights to ensure I retain Plat for 2015 :D

Earn 50% more Status credits on Qantas

Just got this email:

Qantas said:
Dear QF WP

Earn 50% more Status credits on flights around Australia

Qantas is your best choice for domestic travel with more flights around Australia than other airline[SUP]^[/SUP]. To suit your travel needs, we've got a range of fares - choose from Economy Red eDeals through to Business.

As an added bonus for a limited time, when you fly we'll give you 50% more Status credits[SUP]~[/SUP] than you would normally earn on every eligible Qantas domestic Flight[SUP]‡[/SUP] . So the more you fly, the more you'll be rewarded. To top it off, you'll also receive at least 1,000 points for every eligible Qantas flight you take, thanks to our Minimum Points Guarantee[SUP]+[/SUP].

To earn 50% more Status credits, simply register and make a new Qantas domestic booking by 31 October 2013 for travel any time between 11 October 2013 and 31 January 2014.

Needless to say, I registered. Now to plan Q4 travel (which needs a bit of QF to ensure my Gold re-qualification as I'm on 430 SC's with a re-qual date of 28 Feb 2014). Nice timing for once and it looks like a targeted offer. It might not be double SC's, but I'm not greedy :D

Its not a new offer, there have been reports of others getting it for some time (2011), its targeted and often on specific routes, such as your domestic limitation.

Ah, domestic limitation is not a limitation for me :D - usually my offers have been international which ARE a limitation for me

"Welcome fishies to my hook ..."
Happily swimming hooked (ooooh, look at the bright light) :D

Got the offer as well. Doesn't make much of a difference to me as I'm planning a JASA to requal SG anyway. This however does push my flight back up to CNS next year by one day to make the deadline lol. All nice handy extra SC to lifetime I guess.

Just a reminder to everyone that based on past experiences, if you cancel a flight, receive a voucher and use said voucher (which will keep the same Amadeus ref) then it wont qualify as a new booking. It needs to be a completely new Amadeus ref.

For a flight which earns 15SCs will they actually give you 22.5SCs or does it get rounded up or down?

I got 50% extra SC on my BNE-CNS ret last w/e and only got 7 SC extra on each leg. Not very happy about that. It leaves me on an uneven number!

Seems xASA's are in luck, according to the T&C's in the email:

Qantas Segments booked in X, U, Z or P classes are eligible to earn points and Status credits only when booked as part of a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award

Not to mention short changed 1 SC since 7.5+7.5=15 and not 14.

I know but the JASA I'm planning puts me above the number SCs I needed anyway. The extra SC will do nothing but add to lifetime.

Ah, missed the "return". Regardless, each sector individually is used to calculate the bonus 50%, not the sum total of all sectors in the booking. Little trap
