Hello,

I have a BA flight from LHR to SIN in first (my first ever F redemption flight!!) that is going to connect to a QF flight in business to PER.

There is 2h 45m between flights.

Both have different reference numbers but were both booked through Qantas.

Will BA check the luggage trough to PER at LHR?

QF and BA can't seem to agree on this when I ask them.

Yes, BA will tag your bag to PER, just give the check in agent a copy of your SIN-PER booking. They may not be able to give you your QF BP, but just collect it at the transfer desk in SIN.

There is evidence around of BA not through tagging even to oneworld partners...

I have done it many times, only in FRA did I have to be a bit more insistent. Last time in DUB I was connecting from a BA flight to a UL flight, the check in agent asked me if UL was part of OW, when I said yes, she told me that she would check my bag anywhere in the world as long as the flights were on OW airlines..

Thanks for the info. Qantas social media said they could. Ba said no. So wasn't sure.

Hi ChrisCunard,

Perhaps print this page.

Pertinently:

The difference between a through ticket and a separate ticket:

[TD="class: ctCellFirst"]Through check in for travel on BA to BA, BA to oneworld, and BA to codeshare partners only. To all other airlines, baggage is not checked through to final destination but only to the destination point on each separate ticket.

BA should do it as OW to OW connection however they seem to make up their own rules so you would need to prepare yourself in case bags are only tagged to SIN.

If that's the case ask the CSM on your LHR/SIN flight to have ground staff meet you on arrival & have your bags retagged behind the scenes to PER.

You could always do OLCI for SIN/PER or just get your boarding pass in the SIN lounge.
