I have tried to book Per - LHR but when I try Business class the availability says yes, when I go t select flights it says this leg will be in Economy.

Why does it do that? If there are no Business Class seats, why say there are? Same with First, it says the seats will be in Business, or even worse in Economy! Why would anyone use FFP on a Firstclass ticket to travel in Business or even in Economy?

I suspect you're seeing routes where PER-SIN or PER-SYD might be in business and SIN-LHR or SYD-SIN-LHR are in economy. I don't know why it does that but it's a well-known problem with the website that has the potential to really rip you off if you're not aware of it. If it's any consolation, the warnings now saying "Your flight from x to y will be in Economy" are much more prominent than they used to be.

Qantas award booking engine loves to trick people into parting with their hard earned points so they can travel in economy but use the same points required for business class.

Also beware of booking Qantas economy travel but flight operated by Jetstar aircraft and crew.

You would think that they would not be able to get away with it but it happens regularly....

Sometimes can get around this doing it as two separate bookings, one domestic the other international, test latter 1st.

Just read what the screen tells you and check the class before you press "submit".

I don't think the system can "trick" you if you're paying attention. It quite clearly shows you your travel class you just need to look for it.

If all else fails, call 131313 and they can help you find connections in F.

No F flights depart ex. Perth so your Per-Anywhere leg will be in J. But again the system tells you this.
