Not sure if anyone else got this (or if this is normal), but I got an email about a schedule change this afternoon.
The email contained no body (e.g. details) and only a small attachment (the QF logo).

Not sure if this is yet another glitch in the matrix or if I just got lucky...

Incidentally I've now gone to a 3hr 55m layover (was just over 2) in BNE inbound from NRT in January before onward to SYD. (Flying in discount J).
What do you think my chances are of getting moved to an earlier flight without incurring change fees as a result of the shifted schedule?
QF509 and QF511 are both showing as having I class availability (which I expect is what I'm booked into?). QF509 would be a 1hr55m layover, and would be continuing on an A330 to boot! Appreciate any insight...

Not sure about the email but if a schedule change on the part of Qantas means you now have a longer layover in BNE, they'll generally change your flight for free to allow for the shorter layover (as you originally booked).

I did this many time. Just call QF and tell them you are not happy with the schedule change and want a shorter connection. Change fee will be waived, so it doesn't matter if your fare class is not available on the earlier flight.

Mmm, thought it was similar to the Jetstar email, them moving from MEL T1 to MEL T4.
But looks like its different.

Thanks Mattg, defurax, I called up yesterday (yes, I contributed to phone hold times!) and changed my flights. I now have about 1:45 outbound and 1:55 inbound so I'm happy.

I lost the 332 SYD-BNE but picked one up BNE-SYD. Swings and roundabouts :)
