Has anyone else noticed the cleanliness of the crockery and cutlery in some Qantas Clubs not quite up to scratch? I've mainly noticed it in the J lounge in BNE, but also to some extent in my other regular haunt, the T2 QP in SYD.

I think I'll provide QF with some feedback - the other day it took me 4 goes to find a fork that was clean, and the plates are often not clean either.

Now I'm fairly .. errr, particular, and I'm aware this is a bit of a whinge, but is it just me? :)

Indeed!

I have placed dirty utensils on the glass counter a number of times in recent past! (SYD & MEL) Maybe they have new dishwashers?

The bar people generally check glasses by default for lippy now - that's saying something in itself, and if Graham (SYD J) serves you (the best barman in the network IMHO) he washes the glass before pouring a drink.

Actually, i noticed that in the MEL J lounge. Couple of weeks ago, it took me few tries to get a clean fork. i think i had to go though about 10 of them to get a clean one. As you mentioned, the plates were often not clean either. But my experience at other lounges have been good.

You're supposed to take them from the buffet table, not the trolley!

I know this thread is lounge related but....

On a 747 flight SYD -LAX sitting in PE I had to smile 4-5 seconds after takeoff as the cutlery drawer crashed onto the floor of the J galley forward of us . Have been wondering since what happened next?

Did the cuttlery get washed & used, or were the just put back in place & used, are there spares for such an event...

Just glad that my dinner came from a different galley that day!

I have had a few issues with dirty plates in the BNE lounge recently as well!

I've had an issue with dirty aircraft, but thats not for here.....

You do not want to be suffering from OCD.

Personally if I can avoid plates and to some extent cutlery then I will. The less I have to use them the better. Things like pies, pizza, olives, cheese, fetta cheese will get put on a plate but then eaten with fingers.

If I have a choice I will drink beer out of the bottle and not a glass, I wil drink a can of coke out of the can and only if I need ice will I use a glass.
