Using a QF lounge pass with accompanying children

Just wondering what the situation is if an adult using a legitimately obtained guest pass accesses the lounge and is traveling with two children, in this case aged 1 and 4?

If the pax had status, the normal and generous QFF rules re lounge access for children would apply. As they don't and are a guest, however, do those rules extend to their own child guests?

I don't know if there are rules as such for this but I cannot imagine that any reasonable member of the QF Lounge staff would refuse access to a pass holder with a couple of toddlers.

Access for children is not advertised with the guest passes but if you come across any issues then just ask the 4 year old to supervise the 1 year old just outside the lounge while you relax in the lounge for a couple of hours.

It's a dead set dump. But, it's my choice not to enter - not some guppy that doesn't know their job!

That's exactly the kind of guppy I'm worried about especially in the absence of clear rules. Did you get in to the dump eventually?

While general conditions should be listed on the pass itself, a guest is offered the same benefits as a Qantas Club member in terms of travelling with children when visiting a Qantas operated lounge. "Child" or "children" is used in reference to age, not biological relationship to the accompanying adult.

As the saying goes "you can't choose your family, but you can choose your #accompanyingadult". Ok so I made that up, but you get the gist. Just ask any one of the many underage Gold and Platinum members.

Obviously too late for that visit, but next time you may just like to carry a copy of this policy found on this website:

[h=2]Families[/h] Qantas Lounges welcome you when travelling together with your family. In addition to your normal guest allowance you may also bring up to two children, between ages 4 and 17, into lounges operated by Qantas. Children aged 3 years or under are not counted as guests for the purpose of determining the number of guests of the member. If you are travelling with more than two children, the Qantas lounge manager will try to accommodate them, subject to reviewing the space available in the lounge.
