Is it worth redeeming points for Y and W awards?

Thanks for some great suggestions, will investigate. I don’t mind BA in the air, it’s ground staff and online customer service I have a big problem with after shocking experiences at LHR T5 more than once! For example, one of the floating staff near baggage scan once lied to her manager...

Is it worth redeeming points for Y and W awards?

QF site shows BA and EK for return but not showing any QR availability even though I know I could get to KUL via DOH, or other OW airlines with various stops. I’d read that PE had improved on BA on certain stock inc 787s that fly to KUL so it would probably be fine but I just never chose them...

Is it worth redeeming points for Y and W awards?

Thank you...I need to get to KUL from London (preferably LHR but can do LGW for better availability of awards) and then onto SYD and back to London. I can get a PE award with BA outbound to KUL but I’m not a big fan of BA in general so unsure whether to ‘waste’ my points on them. Then a mix of Y...

Is it worth redeeming points for Y and W awards?

Is it worth redeeming points for Y and W awards? Have to book and fly at short notice and can’t get a J award but combo of Y/W/J might be possible? Is it bad value to use points for awards below J?

Options for booking one way SYD-HKG-LHR - minimising cost

We are actually about to apply for a credit card each for various reasons so this is a good point. Do you mean the Amex lounges? We have QF passes through our bank but need QF/JQ flight number.

Options for booking one way SYD-HKG-LHR - minimising cost

Thanks, you are completely right $ wise, there are much cheaper options but I wanted QF to push me to SG (which I will never be able to maintain but would be nice just once!) and I do love a lounge....yes I’m one of those! And my husband has never used one even though our small son has with me...

Options for booking one way SYD-HKG-LHR - minimising cost

Sadly not. I work some of the time in KL always flying QF, MH/JQ Asia so my only account is with QFF. And I’d love to go to HEL but we’ve ruled out another stop with two very young children.

Options for booking one way SYD-HKG-LHR - minimising cost

Thanks... I'm happy with CX or BA code from HKG as long as SYD-HKG is QF but I just want to be able to book it as one multicity trip and that seems impossible or at least not simple.

Options for booking one way SYD-HKG-LHR - minimising cost

Thanks to everyone who helped me out recently with suggestions on booking a one way route SYD-LHR for our upcoming move back to the UK. As rightly pointed out, 3 shorter flights with young children was actually going to be more trouble than it was worth so we've decided on a stop in HKG as...

Could be worth flying to MEL for the sake of an hour though.

    Suggestions for one-way route SYD-LHR

Thanks, something to consider. We had planned to stop for a few days in each place though to have a short holiday, wouldn’t be going straight through or just overnighting. But yes, still a lot of work. I can’t see any flights to CMB that are 9 hours though, everything from SYD is about 12.5-13h...

    Suggestions for one-way route SYD-LHR

Thanks @Mattg , I had thought about a cheap airline to Asia but need a decent luggage allowance per person since we’re relocating semi-permanently. SYD-SGN is cheap with JQ but I’d need the $160 bundle per person to get 30kg luggage each. Price difference then not so big compared to QF or EK...

    Suggestions for one-way route SYD-LHR

My family and I are moving back to the UK in October and wondering if any experienced AFF-ers have any good suggestions for booking our one way trip back. We want to stop twice and do 3 flights of approx equal length as we have very young children and trying to avoid too much time in the air. I...

    Best seats economy A380?

32AB have opened up so I've switched there for now...hopefully a good choice and will be great if there's no one next to me! I might keep an eye on the loading though as might be a better chance of two to myself somewhere else away from the bulkhead... I'm more comfortable with armrest up and...

    Best seats economy A380?

165cm/5'5", very average but not tall. Seat Guru says 32G has more knee room but maybe less legroom due to bulkhead and reduced width because of IFE in armrest. I'm in 33G at the moment but wondering whether to switch. Thanks!

    Best seats economy A380?

Hi all I've read through a few threads about the economy seats on the upper deck on Qantas A380 but still not sure which of the above two seats would be better. 32 seems to be bulkhead/more legroom but I'm not personally a fan of not being able to raise the armrests (hoping no one is next to me...
