    Qantas Points Cracker promotion

I see. I'm in Australia at present, but my place of residence isn't. Thanks for the info.

    Qantas Points Cracker promotion

Do I assume correctly that this promotion is only for people who flew this week? There's no promotion on my app, though I took two flights last Friday. Or is it only for P or P1?

New Adelaide Qantas Club & Business Lounge

Jaffas seem to be gone from the QC in Melbourne as well, unless I've just been unlucky in my timing.

New Adelaide Qantas Club & Business Lounge

One of the good things about the J lounge in Sydney was the make-your-own-carrot-juice station. I say "was" because it seems to have disappeared (not there last Thursday, at any rate). So I don't see much difference between J and QC lounges now, except that the former was relatively uncrowded.

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

For those who go to BNE fairly regularly, it's worth getting on the Airtrain's mailing list as from time to time they offer Return fares for the price of a single (not time limited, you only have to specify the dates). For those using the every-15-mins T-bus at SYD, don't rely on it if you're in...

Article: Oneworld, SkyTeam & Star Alliance Status Benefits

As a long-term Aeroplan SuperElite (100K), I'm still waiting for Star Alliance to introduce one or more levels above Gold.

Theft in lounges - how frequent?

You're right, and I've reported it this morning. It had to be reported via the NSW Police Online Portal. I too would like to see this person banned.

Theft in lounges - how frequent?

Yes indeed - thanks for the reminder. BTW, Qantas definitely told me to contact Mascot Police, not airport police (and I got them to confirm Mascot).

Theft in lounges - how frequent?

It wasn't more than $130, just for handy cash. My passport and remaining cash is in a neck pouch I never take off. Never leave my phone unattended either - ever. Qantas does have CCTV footage but would only hand it over to police. And I'm wondering if the police would bother ploughing through...

Theft in lounges - how frequent?

Last month I was in the Qantas Domestic Club lounge at SYD for a couple of hours, between Canada and Adelaide, sitting in a far corner with very few other people around. I left my backpack at my seat for a few minutes while I went to the toilet/get food. I later discovered that someone - and I'm...

Qantas Error Fare: First Class to Los Angeles from Sydney $4,299 return @qantas.com (several dates incuding xmas holidays)

Why is this six-page thread, which goes back at least to 2003, a mish-mash of scrambled dates, so that it's impossible to find the latest posts? This level of disorganisation is REALLY ANNOYING.

Article: What to expect flying from Sydney to Canada on AC34

Hello RooFlyer, The photo seems to be of the earlier iteration of lie-flat beds in J, which one only rarely encounters these days (only on the odd 330) and definitely not on Australia flights. The current Signature Class (introduced around 2008 - if your photo is 2014, it looks like you got...

Article: What to expect flying from Sydney to Canada on AC34

A few coments from someone who has done this round trip in J twice a year for about 30 years. The bedding is actually mattress topper, pillow and duvet (not blanket). The meal as shown must have been the quick service, as dessert and cheese come around after the main meal has been served...

Where to go in Europe that's mild in winter

Malta is great. Larnaca (and Paphos etc) is also good - definitely low season with prices to match, though it can be cool at night, and showery. Your Euro goes a long way here.

    Qantas Club Flexible membership

I'm also an Australian living overseas and at first thought that this would be just the thing if I lose my Gold-level status. But I visit twice a year, and 2 x $228 isn't worth it. Pity.

Article: My 3 Favourite Airline Points in 2024

You can give the gift card to anyone you like (including, of course, yourself). They come in eCard and plastic card varieties; the former is delivered more or less instanteously to anyone with an email address. You get the 4x points as you've paid for the card. Provided you include your Aeroplan...

Article: My 3 Favourite Airline Points in 2024

If you're actually intending to fly on AC in the reasonably near future, until 17 July (Canadian Eastern Time) you can buy yourself a gift card and that will give you 4x miles (ie, buy a $2000 gift card and you'll get 8,000 miles, on top of the miles you fly, of course). Part of the Aeroplan...

Is there a need for a new Oneworld tier above Emerald?

SE is indeed a valuable status. Apart from the usual stuff most airlines offer (3 x 32kg checked bags; priority everything), there are helpful extras such as using the J-only United Arrivals Lounge at Heathrow even if not travelling in J, access to a Concierge via a dedicated phone number as...

Is there a need for a new Oneworld tier above Emerald?

I'm waiting for Star Alliance to recognise that some airlines have more than three tiers, eg, Air Canada. I'm SA Gold but Air Canada lifetime 75K and SuperElite this year (equivalent to QF lifetime Plat and P1). I understood some time ago that SA was thinking about it, but evidently went no further.
