The payment at the end of the auction is automatic as far as I know. You could set up another account with a second card payment but probably not worth it.

I went this morning on my way home with my wife. Nothing to get excited about. We both tried a few wines and didn't buy anything

You can get some good pricing. I've brought Bindi on these auctions in the past. The range is great but over priced. It's generally reasonable on the unreserved auctions. Just be careful of the buyers premium and then GST on the buyers premium which adds 16.5% to the hammer price. It's...

Haven't had one for quite a while but my recollection was that it was a decent quaffer. No more or less than that. Reasonable/good value for money at normal retail so half price would be worth a crack. Nick's review is pretty accurate...

I'm having a blue with Shopback at the moment about Dan Murphy's purchases not tracking and they are hopeless. Frankly I think it's a business lacking integrity. I initially had problems with Cashrewards when I first signed but recent transaction have tracked correctly.

My experience with Shopback is the opposite. I'm still waiting for them to track orders I have logged as claims AND emailed them about after no response. Their responses to emails have been slow . Not only that they email me the same list of possible reasons for an order not tracking even...

I am a bit confused. How did you get that pricing. That links through to 99.99 or 94.99 in a 6.

I half suspect they made a pricing error and don't want to supply. If you were one of the first to order, which looking tat the thread you were, they probably would have had stock to complete your order. Technically you have a contract so can sue for performance and they probably have to...

Think this is Wills Domain if anyone is interested. I've not tried it so can't give an opinion: https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_MYSTERY139/secret-selection-single-vineyard-margaret-river-chardonnay-2018

Interesting. There has been a bucket load of older vintage Clarendon Hills stock on Langtons auctions, particularly weekend unreserved auctions over recent months. I've bought a few at $15-20 and happy with all of them - as old as 2003. Wonder where all the stock has come from.

Thanks for the heads up Buzzard. RE BWS - yes expensive. This 30% off can work though. The Paringa Estate Pinot Noir (next one up from the PE and a good pinot IMO) is $75 at BWS. It's $56.25 in a half dozen. Dan's have it at $61.75 in a half dozen. Quick google indicates similar pricing...

Can you suggest a $50 wine better than Penfolds RWT?

Just off the top, a few Victorian producers maybe not so well known that I think represent good value compared to RWT/Penfolds: Warrabilla if like 'em big. The Parola range is great value. You can get them from the winery or Nicks ($35); Anderson's while we in the Rutherglen region -...

TWE have progressively taken all value from the Penfolds range. All are over priced these days IMO. I used to buy some or all of 389, 407, 128, 28 & 138 at release every year from Dan's when they used to have good release pricing but these days I'd be lucky to buy a case of 389 in a good vintage.

Sounds like bottle some variation - ie quality control issues at III Associates. Shame becasue historically the Squid Ink varieties have been very good IMO.

Thanks redbigot, I'll pull one of the Black Bay bottltes from the cellar and give it a try. I got them when first offerred. I always wonder about large discounts from VM for wines that should sell without 50% discounts.
