Try going onto the web site and setting all contacts/catalogues to No. Log out. Leave it a couple of days and then go back and turn them on again. Worked for WWs. Meanwhile 4 x 4 wks @ $50 hit today. Surprisingly all consecutively whereas typically they'd be spread out by up to 8 hours.

Fraud on Velocity Frequent Flyer accounts

Or they could be a major MSM operator like Newscorp and run news sites that are only HTTP like The Telegraph for example whereas the News.com.au site is HTTPS - go figure? Certainly you can have the settings to alert you if you cannot go to a HTTPS site but surprisingly few (that I've come...

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

Any system limitation can be fixed, if an organisation wants to. In Q’s case as it benefits their customers then why would they want to given the now decades long Q attitude to customers?

Fraud on Velocity Frequent Flyer accounts

IIRC the FBI some time ago put out a warning not to use free airport wifi for anything finance/money related. Equally I think the same warning mentioned to never use a USB charge point in public, only use power outlets with your own charger.

Well, I know some have reservations about Superannuation but Bendigo Bank seems a little extreme... Do you see what I mean?

Latitude 28 Degrees $8 per month starting September 2024

Just wondering whether anybody has asked 28 Degress if the $8/month fee is per account or per card? With 4 supplementary cards that could make things really disappointing. The path of never cough/u/me is always best. I looked at the website and it appears you can only add a supplementary card...

What Amex still provides car hire insurance? My Amex Gold used to but they canned it nearly a decade ago now.

    Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Yes, what suits one may not suit another. A spend of $200/wk over 4 weeks for us yields 40,000 points (4 x 4 @$50 hurdles). We value the FlyBuys (VFF) points much more highly than WR (QFF) points due to the easier redemptions with low (almost non-existent compared with QFF) added on 'fees &...

As Coles slowly ups your weekly hurdle amount, so next 4x week offer gets them an extra $40 or $80 spending.

I always do the overlapping shop after 5pm on the last day of the expiring offer - just in case it is 'business day' related. Works for me. Only use it one one account as they're always for either $70 or $80 vs $50 4 wk offers we harvest.

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

CBA is one of those stocks (now for around 30 years) that analysts & fund managers love to hate - after making fools of them so many times in their 'market timing'. I've mentioned this before, but in the early 2000s my better half went along to a lunchtime S&P event for fund managers & bankers...

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

I suspect (strongly) that the relatively lower performance is due to the largish % holding in unlisted vehicles which 'smooth' their performance (in downturns often mainly for some reason...). A bit like how the CPI has housing costs calculated over a rolling 3 yr period (IIRC). I could be wrong...

    Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Thanks for reminding me! I'd a mental blank on the non-alignment of the 10K offers (ending on Sundays) vs the weekly specials (ending on Tuesdays). The coming specials make achieving the required spends look challenging, however thanks to your memory prompt - we can fill some today with the...

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

I suspect you are talking about the returns from a couple of the Equity funds (Retail) run by Kerr such as the Asia Pacific fund which did well, US fund not so much. Despite in 1989 where one recent graduate was tasked with doing a major research project into Australian property (all mainland...

Which tallies with several 'Planning your retirement' seminars we've attended put on by various industry funds. Given how low the Aged Pension is - shouldn't everybody's aim be to achieve the highest retirement savings subject to being able to sleep at night (aka not worrying constantly about...

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

Under the rules there is a minimum % (related to your age at the time) that you need to take out from your pension balance over time. Taking 10% out each year from the start is why the balance drops so rapidly. If you have a look at the age-based requirements - the starting % for most. Under...

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

If you look through the last 40 or so pages - Hanging up and calling again has seen a different outcome for a number of people. Perhaps it has something to do with the seniority of the CCA, and they having some discretion. I've encountered this many times over the years where I've stood my...
