New member can help with MEL airport parking tips, advice & savings!

Welcome to the forum MELoffairpark, as someone who parks off-airport in Melbourne more than 20 times a year I look forward to your continued input. I also prefer the self-parking option, although in my case it is not so much security as not wanting to have to adjust the seat, steering wheel and...

Check here, entering that you are Velocity Gold: https://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en/experience/at-the-airport/international-lounge-access/ The answer appears to be yes to both Melbourne and Abu Dhabi.

    Air India 787 Business Class

It wasn't my first choice, but I will be flying them in Oct 2015 CDG-DEL-MEL as a way of using Lifemiles to get home from France. They wouldn't have been my first choice, but although I haven't flown them before, my low expectations are more on delays and poor service than specific safety concerns.

    Platinum Complimentary Upgrade Change

I think as Vitagen mentioned, there needs to be a reward seat available. In the lead up to my latest flight back I was monitoring availability closely to try an snare such an upgrade from a flexi fare. On ExpertFlyer, Virgin business class availability appears in J, C, D and I classes...

Jetstar to move to MEL T4

Don't worry - my working assumption for Melbourne airport is a shopping centre with a car park attached that just happens to have aircraft nearby. This is a proper top floor however, so quite out of the normal passenger flow where there was plenty of retail space and paid food outlets shown.

Jetstar to move to MEL T4

The detailed plans for MEL T4 show a large space of the upper floor reserved for a lounge. There has been no announcement as to who, if anyone, will be taking it up. I don't see it likely that Qantas will establish a lounge for Jetstar flyers. Nearby, Virgin has already set up its Club in new...

Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A There is a series of posts of people having problems with Air China and seemingly confirmed reservations. On Travelsky (the Chinese GDS) the words next to HK translated to "confirmed, please ticket" and various other sources seemed to...

Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A I have a LifeMiles booking that includes a segment on Air China (PVG-MEL). I am confused as to whether I should be concerned about the E-ticket status, certainly the two people I spoke to at Air China were not. The second gentlemen was very...

    Any Qantas Angels on here?

Presumably this new angel service will be additional to actually organising the alternate flights and accommodation and not instead of! My preference would be to have communication with someone who can actually tell me what is happening and do something to help, so hopefully the angels are...

    Any Qantas Angels on here?

I don't doubt that Red Roo is an angel, but I'd always thought of him/her as more permenant/full-time than the group referred to in the article.

    Any Qantas Angels on here?

I thought this was an interesting approach. “We have a group of people who love social media who we call the young Qantas Angels,” Ms Wirth said. “There are about 250 of them. They have gone through social media training. If there is a crisis and we need more people on social media, we...
