Aeroplan (Air Canada) is now selling points

I booked this route using Aeroplan in December. Ended up adding the Air Canada reference to Checkmytrip and that gave me the VA and QH individual reference number for flights. However, that wasnt very useful in the end. Yes, I could retrieve the booking on Bamboo but I couldn't select my seats...

    24hrs cooling off period

I fell into this trap last time. Hopefully not the case for you, but turns out the first flight has to be more than 30 days away. I didnt realise this and try to cancel something over the call centre. They said it will be fully refunded including the fare and taxes, but only the taxes came back...

Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

Seems like I could change this to PER-SYD-DRW-BNE-ADL-MEL for no extra points. But, the SYD-DRW arrives just before DRW-BNE departs which could be risky. Perhaps it might even be the same plane, but I dont think I am going to take that risk.

Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

Would booking it in now and making changes later still qualify for DSC? Is it based on the PNR only?

Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

Yes, booked an initial multi-segment and made the changes online. It is limiting on what can be changed. Had to be all on the same day or less than 24 hours between the segments I think

Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

Managed to get PER-SYD-DRW-ADL-MEL to stick on AS for 20k points. Fingers crossed, should get 132 SC (or 264 during DSC)

Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

When booking using AS, it seems like the QF FF cant be added during the online booking process. It defaults to the MP number and wont let me change the program either. If I add this retrospectively via the contact centre (but within the DSC period), would it still count? Surprisingly not...

Double Status Credits Virgin Australia Activate by 10th Feb 2023. and Travel by 31st March 2023

I am in a similar situation having flown last Thursday and only received the base points. It could be because I like one of the posts above may have activated and booked the flights as soon as the offer came up.

30K Bonus Velocity Points or 250 Status Credits or $200 Coles Voucher with New Credit Card

In the last similar promotion which ran during 2022, my partner applied for their card well after the choice benefit selection period and it still worked (trial gold for 6 months). But i am not sure if it is similar this time. Doesn't hurt to make the choice anyway even if you are not in a...

NZ relocation as a VA Plat. Switch to Air NZ?

Having lived in NZ myself, Airpoints is a really frustrating program to get behind. To get gold, you are looking at 900SC. The cheapest flights between AKL-CHC earn about 4SC, so you are looking at doing several of these. I remember a minimum set at 8SC for each flight, but that seems to be...

Double Status Credits Virgin Australia Activate by 10th Feb 2023. and Travel by 31st March 2023

Was looking at this, but ended up going for OOL as there is a lounge. Ended up being $442 for the same 220 SC. Is there much quiet space at MCY to set up and work for the day?

The Virgin Australia Newbie Questions Thread

How long does SQ status credits take to post these days? Usually in the past, they posted to my account in 2 days, but did a flight last week and it still hasn't appeared. My status review is coming up soon. What happens if the credits dont post on time, do they adjust once the retro claim...

Unable to book flights on Singapore Airlines website

I have noticed similar things recently with their website. If you do a multicity, it seems to price with lower pricing as opposed to booking one way. However, if the stop is less than 48 hours, it wouldn't actually let me execute the booking as a multicity booking and give an error. I have...

An aeroplan adventure (ft. Bamboo airways to Vietnam plus more)

K6 cabin is the standard 3-3 A320 layout. Nothing fancy. They are reasonably full service and the base fare included a 20kg checkin bag. Do note for some reason booking the same K6 flight as a VN flight number is almost double the price. Today's flight time to PNH is only 35 minutes, probably...

An aeroplan adventure (ft. Bamboo airways to Vietnam plus more)

K6 along with Vietjet and the various low cost carriers operating to SGN use remote gates. And there are several of these as you see to the left on google maps. This meant a nice little bus trip to the aircraft with some more planespotting to take our anxiety away from the last hour's events...

An aeroplan adventure (ft. Bamboo airways to Vietnam plus more)

Carrying on, we arrived in SGN to chaos. Landing at 17:20 (2 hours late), we had about 80 minutes to catch our K6 flight. And ofcourse, immigration rows were very busy. There was atleast 30 people in each of the 10+ rows leaving us with little hope of making our next flight. We already had a...

An aeroplan adventure (ft. Bamboo airways to Vietnam plus more)

Shortly before landing, we had the second meal. The crew were quite friendly and the manager showed me his tablet with all the menus and how it rotates with various routes. Anyway, here is the full menu for the pre-arrival meal. Went for the vermicelli option and this is how it was...

An aeroplan adventure (ft. Bamboo airways to Vietnam plus more)

One of the annoying things with the 787 is when the crew control the window shades. They were kept in this state during the entire flight despite it being day time. Time to look at the amenities kit No fancy brands, but lots of stuff. I was surprised that they gave a razor. Toilet was...

An aeroplan adventure (ft. Bamboo airways to Vietnam plus more)

This was the menu for Meal 1. No paper menus on the flight, instead it was shown by the crew on a tablet. Not big on alcohol, but I realised they only had 2 whites and 2 reds. Watch out for all the Bamboo branding about to hit you! Some cashews to start The tuna and prawn entree with garlic...
