To the top of Alaska (with a few other places along the way)

Our next stop was Jasper. We arrived late afternoon and had an early meal and headed back to our room for an early start the next morning. The next morning was supposed to be early but we took a detour to Pyramid Lake and some camping grounds around the area. We spotted coyotes running along...

@Pushka i thought we could do this trip quicker than we did but I think this is a tatste of Canada tour. If I had to say where to spend most time it would be lake Louise to Jasper. I have loved it all so far. I will update some more over the next day or two. We have just arrived in Vancouver...

Next stop, Athabaska Falls. These were impressive, and the walk around the falls with different perspectives were amazing. The force of the water is amazing.

A bit of a longer drive now to Athabaskan Glacier. We didn’t pre book any tours here and I am kind of glad we didn’t. I was not too impressed with this Glacier, and I think because of previously visiting Alaska, we have seen better. Not withstanding that, the fact the Glacier is there, and...

Next stop Peyto Lake, and I think this was one of the most beautiful views we have encountered.

A few days behind in uploading again, I must admit that the later sunsets kind of catch up with you on a lack of sleep perspective and taking advantage of the daylight to explore. We saw a bear and her bear cubs at lake Louise, where one of traveling companions got a little enthusiastic and a...

Up to date with my photos, and today we went to the Lake Louise Ski Fields and for $39.00 each we got a buffet breakfast and gondola tickets (open ski lift or closed gondola. We chose the open ski lift) to a fair way up the mountain to have a view of Lake Louise, the wildlife interpretation...

Overnight at Deer Lodge, and dinner at the lodge. A Bison burger, which was an interesting taste, and 3 x 500ml beers later we decided that a late walk to the lake was in order. A better option for photos was the early morning walk the next morning, which we intended to do for about 1/2 hour...

After the wolves, we headed to Emerald Lake and not far from there the "Natural Bridge". Emerald Lake was amazing, and there was snow still around near the lake. The natural bridge is just that, a rock formation that was formed from the rushing water through a small hole (which has been...

As a previous post has indicated, we left Banff and headed for Golden. We stopped at the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre, just near Golden. This was a small wildlife centre for wolfs that are disbanded as pets (apparently is is legal to have them as pets) and run by a couple who...

Trying to catch up on everything that we have done. I did forget a place we visited in Banff before leaving. We visited the "Cave & Basin". The sulphur smell from the ground water was very similar to Rotorua in New Zealand. We saw the Banff snail, which is a leftie, being the shell curves to...

@Pushka it was a real easy drive from Calgary.

@RooFlyer we found the wildflower cafe and spoke to an Aussie waitress there. Good food for breakfast and coffee. We then ventured towards Golden, not only for your photos, but a wolf nature reserve. Photos for @RooFlyer as requested. We couldn’t get closer as access from the side road was...

Not much exploring in Calgary as we were only there for an afternoon and met up with friends for a few drinks. We were staying the downtown Marriott, right opposite the Calgary tower. A great location, reasonable priced and so very comfortable. Yesterday morning we headed straight to Banff...

Thanks to Rooflyer, dinner at Saltlik on our first night in Calgary, and the special of the day, 16oz T-bone with Lobster Mash. Sorry no photos, we were dining with another couple, who despise food pics, but I can highly recommend.

This is our first time flying with Air Canada. We are flying J as it was a lower cost to buy a J ticket than a Y ticket and add luggage. The Maple Leaf Lounge in terminal 6 at LAX is comfortable, not too crowded, and has a selection of muffins/fruit and yogurts for breakfast.

Day 2/3 in Anaheim and Disneyland. Today we spent most of the day in between Disneyland and California Adventure. (Photos to come). It was no where near as crowded as the previous day. We got 8 rides in today, including space mountain and star tours with a fast pass for each. Lots of...

Day 1 at Disneyland and California Adventure. It was pretty crowded today but we managed a few rides. Pirates was the first ride to see the new redhead scene. I don’t know if I am a fan, I think we will need to see it again tomorrow. Pirates standby wait time displayed 40 minutes and we in...

About an hour from LAX and the WiFi is still working. I didn’t take any photos of breakfast, I was juggling laptop and iPad and breakfast to try and get some last minute work done before landing. I managed about 5 hours sleep which wasn’t too bad considering the early turbulence and the...
