What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

The forecast of Rex’s demise has been around for years they are almost like a coughroach impossible to kill keep scuttling away and annoying all the big players 😝

    Rex to launch Melbourne/Adelaide-Perth routes

VA2 is a foreign controlled airline so I’m sure they don’t care they are doing something un-Australian 😝 But I do understand your point. It is Friday afternoon!

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

And Rex is slowly slowly ratcheting up the pressure on VA2, literally one plane at a time, which is keeping VA2 prices honest on some key routes so they can’t really take much more margin. QF keep the corporates / business / premium crowd, JQ undercuts everyone and Rex increasingly merges into...

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

Worked well out of BNE this AM. Surprisingly compliant crowd on a full flight - a pity as I was hoping to see tonnes of walks of shame / gate lice as others have put it!! Saw one ‘Beep computer said no’ but appeared to be a genuine mistake from the passenger who seemed mortified and ran away...

Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

Their market research indicates that Ropey is quite possibly not coming back in the new / updated cabins and even the divider is a TBC

Qantas and Jetstar to launch new Vanuatu routes (Approved by IASC as of July 2024)

Qantas has been approved from IASC to launch Qantas and Jetstar flights utilising a mix of QF 73H’s, E190’s and Jetstar A321’s. Qantas is planned to take the BNE route, starting 3 x a week moving to daily later. Jetstar is planned to take the SYD route starting at 4 x a week.

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

The QLD government tried to shut it as part of the deal when VA1 collapsed.,, but BNE simply doesn’t have the depth of talent pool that a MEL/SYD has so it’s not surprising to hear they are still being key roles in SYD.

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Did Virgin actually close their Sydney corporate office? Apparently they are struggling to find talent to fill key roles in Brisbane and are quietly allowing people to still work in Sydney. Which makes complete sense given the concentration of corporate talent in Mel/Syd, but I thought they...

    Virgin's A320 Hellship, Adelaide-Perth

Just have to say the title of this thread is the absolute best. I chuckle every time it pops up. Hellship. Love it.

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

I also like silent lounges as long as the boards are accurate (Melbourne T3/4 is terrible for board accuracy still). Edit T3/4

    Jetstar launching Brisbane-Bangkok route

I’d suggest the reverse. But our extremely intelligent state government loves spending our money and giving it to big corporations so 🤔

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

Good feedback to give Qantas especially in the early stages of the roll out. Let us know the response you get. I’ll also hang back in the lounge and see what the boarding timing calls are. Though I do agree with the above posters if you want to board first then you should be at the gate when...

    Velocity account suspended

Did you have linked accounts for pooling? Apparently Velocity use a ‘stupid’ bot that runs through accounts and looks for deviations in addresses on pools and then auto-suspends for no reason. There’s been a few posts about that previously.

UBank is "enhancing" their savings account - Where to now?

Oh I just found the Rabo Premium Saver account after your post - 5.45% and no hoop jumping stupid 5 x transactions a month, no expiring intro rates etc, just a plain old deposit $200 a month get 5.45% period. Sounds good to me.

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

A few of VA2’s workplace culture initiatives and core values may have to be quietly deleted if that happens 😝 😜
