Has VA scrapped Platinum Complimentary Upgrade Certificates [no]

I used all four in a two week period before they expired. Success on all flights with a call around four hours from departure. All seats open at this point.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

HBA-MEL and MEL-CBR. Both flights with same menu which was disappointing. Food though was very good on both legs. Just would’ve preferred something warm.

Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

I’m usually in row 3, so that’s why I haven’t noticed before! Thanks!

Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

Looks like they’re retrofitting USB power in some of the older birds. This one being VH-YIR. Not USB-C, but better than nothing.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Sounds awful. I’m all for trying new things, but not on a long haul flight.

QF Club vs QF J Lounge @ SYD - What's the difference?

There is actually a very swanky Chairman’s Lounge in CBR. I’ve been lucky to visit twice. It’s like the SYD/MEL first lounges but everything is green instead of red.

Melbourne VA Lounge becoming airside from August 2022

Just went through. It was a breeze and much more organised than the previous setup. The extra walking was not even an issue.

I'm still waiting for my points and SCs from early June. Virgin apparently had to escalate to UA directly.....

It was revised from 1 June that P+ would have access to spirits. Didn't affect me as I just stuck with wine, but the passengers behind were unimpressed.

It was actually OK - Catering ex Sydney was very good. Expect business class meals. Pic below was Salmon with Hollandaise on pearl couscous. Be aware - They tried to charge for spirits, so be firm. Oh and if you're trying to get into the SQ lounge - make sure you have your VA card.

Thanks folks - Both legs booked in O class, so will chase them. Strangely haven't received any points for SYD-SFO which was a week earlier than this flight.

Random q, as Virgin don’t break your earn down anymore. Is this correct earnings? SFO-SYD in PE as Platinum. Should be 1.25 points per mile (not sure of miles) with the platinum double earn.

As an FYI - My existing booking has been updated overnight with '3 free bags' now included on the booking - assuming this reflects my VA Platinum status.

It’s all on the one ticket. Argh. Oh well. If one doesn’t have lounge access, Canberra is the place to be.
