Is it time for the ACCC to lose its power to veto international JVs?

Maybe QF should remove some bolts at random & hire some kids straight outta high school to fly the ‘planes, to compete with the CCP airlines into CCP Land?

Seemingly trivial reasons why you choose one hotel/airline/shop over another

I’ve been racking my brain since seeing Matt’s post mid-afternoon yesterday and I’ve been trying to think of an example … like, because I liked the colour, or something. But I can’t think of examples that are for anything particularly trivial. It's probably because what I consider to have...

Airport security confiscated an empty water bottle

I'm told Frank Green water bottles are relatively expensive ... nobody's going to spend all that money on something which they expect to plummet out of the sky with them!

    How do you pronounce Lego

Worse when someone here does it, and you know they've been infected with yet another plain-old-incorrect Americanism. "No, Auntie, stop saying that!! And get off Farcebook, no the lizard-people AREN'T trying to eat your face while you're passed-out due to the chemtrails!!!"

    How do you pronounce Lego

Indeed, I'm not great with grammar but I think of Lego is a "collective thing". Lego refers to the system or the collection of bits you have, not to an individual component. You play with Lego, but you have a piece of Lego or a Lego brick. Or you have multiple pieces of Lego or Lego bricks...

    How do you pronounce Lego

The rules are "if you mispronounce it as lay-go then we will give you a pass if you have the excuse of having been raised in South Oz". It's interesting watching local idioms, and reactions to them. You can tell from this thread that, probably because it's not really a normal topic of physical...

Is it cool to segue towards tearing into the “potato cake” people, not to mention those who call a suitcase a “port”?

Fly in style, stay in ghetto. Anyone else do that?

Yeah but staying at your friend’s place introduces cost or at the least effort for them … there’s definitely leechery involved. Still, not necessarily a bad thing, so long as everyone enjoys themselves & that fun makes the cost & effort worthwhile.

    How do you pronounce Lego

It was leg-oh in NSW in the 70’s (and still is). Must admit, haven’t heard “lay-go” before, not even from the over-pluralising Americans who keep wanting to incorrectly shove an ‘s’ on the end to describe multiple pieces.

Fly in style, stay in ghetto. Anyone else do that?

Yeah F to me seems like something you do either on points or when there’s a huge sale on … the wines can be fancy but consuming more than a coupla hundred buck’s worth kinda needs you to go outta your way, the food is $50 cafe fare, there’s more space than a J lie-flat for sure but that doesn‘t...

Fly in style, stay in ghetto. Anyone else do that?

It does depend on what you’re up to. Last time we went on hols, my wife had opportunity for a work meeting, so while she was at said meeting I went to do some Work Stuff in Ghent. For similar cost to a room in a hotel I AirBnB’d an entire townhouse which was waaay more than I really needed; but...

Fly in style, stay in ghetto. Anyone else do that?

It’s hard for me to separate/determine the relationship between price & cleanliness … that’s what turns me off about “slumming it”. I have stayed in very cheap very basic and VERY clean places, and that was great; but cheap & clean ain’t something I’ve come across very often. So generally, no...

Having not flown JQ in “business”, I’m surprised it’s anywhere near an SQ J hard product. Is JQ not more like being in “business” on a Sydney to Brisbane QF 737-800?
