Ah. It wasn’t clear that there were multiple pax, I thought you meant separating segments. Well yep you can do that. But now I’m really unclear. Is the new $1,200 fare for 2 pax or 1? Because if it’s for 2 then it equals $600 for 1 and you will have a $1,000 credit so the same problem.

Well it depends on the fare you bought but I doubt it will be possible to split a fare in half. You’d also end up paying multiple change fees.

You won’t be able to buy those fares. When you go to use the credit, it will only show fares above the credit value excl. taxes. The $1,200 fares won’t even show up in my experience.

Nah I wouldn’t. I also wasn’t a fan and that was an ex-SIN prepared version. I always am tempted due to the lux factor, but wouldn’t select it again. Hard to get right when mass prepared and reheated.

Have you had a look yet? From my experience it is wide open … availability in all classes, across a bunch of dates, better than I have seen on any QF route in living memory. 🤣

To be fair to the OP, there are certainly deals available that are not accessible via Google Flights. Although seeking a max 1-stop EW probably means Google Flights will be close to as good as it gets. If the OP is more flexible, some advice in this article could be useful...
