Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

By the end of the year if this speculation from an investment website holds: "Federal Government is in no rush to open the borders as it gives a fake perception that the job market is solid. The government also has in an ideological war with universities and lack of overseas students are way...

    New Zealand Travel Bubble Announcement

My upcoming trip to NZ tomorrow is now being rebooked because the bubble is suspended. Should the fact that I am fully vaccinated not count for anything in these travel bubble suspensions?

    American Express Cashback Credit Card

Yep, the 2% HSBC cashback applies to all tap, Apple Pay and Google Pay of $100 or less. You spend up to $2,500 a month to reach the $50 per month limit. This Amex doesn't really compare unless you need the credit facility attached to your Binge subscription...

Citibank to Exit Australian Retail Banking

And what will happen to the "fee free for life" Signature? Likely whoever picks it up might only give a year or two grace?

Citibank to Exit Australian Retail Banking

I wonder if this is the final nail in the coffin for Diners Club in Australia: - Unlike American Express they aren't heavily championed globally by their US parent - Citi has let their acceptance drop to the point that only "most" major retailers accept them - Other than offering the...

Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

The whole Citi portfolio will be sold to someone else who would likely rebrand everything. I can't imagine Citi would license their name out.

    General COVID-19 Vaccine Discussion

Whether it is too slow or too fast, I am at a loss to understand why those working in the Covid ward of a major hospital dealing with positive cases amongst returning travellers have not yet been vaccinated and thus now result in another community transmission outbreak. Go as slow as the...

What it's like to travel Qantas in 2021

So do I - flying from Qantas domestic terminal 3 in SYD in July last year was like having your own massive private jet terminal. The photo @Seat0B posted of the CBR concourse was what the QF lounge was like! I asked the lady at the counter what the strangest thing she'd seen during Covid was...

Westpac Appalling Business Behaviour -Warning! #Westpac

This does not surprise me about Westpac - and length of customer relationship is sadly irrelevant. I have had a margin loan for almost 20 years, 15 years of those with a Westpac subsidiary when they acquired that portfolio. Apart from no longer accepting new customers to the product, they have...

    Citi Leaving Australia?

It is part of a possible broader rationalisation of Citi's international consumer divisions announced a few days ago, which could also see them rationalise in South Korea, Thailand and Philippines, as well as possibly Mexico - having already sold off consumer divisions in Brazil, Argentina and...

Claim your share of 20 Million Velocity Points

Does that mean I can delete the app now? Not sure why they need a separate one from the main VA app...

Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

I'm assuming the chances of that are like a unicorn? Are there any reports of this ever actually happening?

Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

The Citi website no longer lists the Premier card as one which is available for new applicants. Anyone have any insight on how long Citi supports card types it no longer offers? It does smell like it might be fee free for the life of the card program, not the life of the holder.

Who else still holds the Citibank Free For Life Premier Card?

Agreed - whilst the only use it gets is the free associated Diners card being attached to my Uber account

Flybuys increases transfer rate, halves minimum

The promotions usually come in April or May, and October / November. I will wait to set up the auto-transfer function until after April. If they continue to offer 15%+ transfer bonuses on Flybuys, I won't set it up at all.

Skyteam - which is best airline for points program?

The lack of expiry which Delta introduced in 2011 (and subsequently copied by JetBlue in 2013 and United in 2019) makes it the default choice to bank miles if you only fly Delta or SkyTeam occasionally. Especially if you occasionally fly Virgin Australia, Virgin Atlantic and now LATAM, you can...

Bonus points & SCs on QF credit card transfers during November 2020

I always find it ironic that in their 2009 "enhancements", Qantas basically restricted the ability to transfer points from all but a handful of credit cards (because direct sweep gives them better data on member spending and finances). Yet they continue to come up with these transfer bonuses to...

Shipping fees no longer free on the Qantas Store

A knife set I bought during the "Velocity Is Going Out Of Business / The World Is Ending" period in April at the time cost 36,700 points with no separate delivery charge. Now, the same knife set is available for 34,600 points, plus 1,800 for standard delivery, or 36,400 in total. The store now...

    What's your favourite 747 memory?

Too many to select just one: - first non-baby flight as a kid was to Europe and back on a QF 747... set the benchmark for everything to follow... I still have the Qantas children's puzzle book they handed me, I would pull it out for years after as a way of recapturing the magic of those first...

Qantas increases points required for Emirates rewards

Not to forget the copy editing on AFF is usually leagues ahead of AusBT/ET... unless they are syndicating articles directly from Bloomberg (which they at least acknowledge)
