B789 - worst ever Qantas economy long haul Seats

In what way? It has the same J seat as the A380 and I'm sure you're no further back than that 😉.

B789 - worst ever Qantas economy long haul Seats

Yet a tape measure would show the a380 seat is wider than the 787 but has less legroom.

    Running a business from home

This post highlights one of the key decisions - just operating a sole trading business with an ABN (with or without GST registration depending upon turnover) , and/or creating a company as a separate entity...

    Running a business from home

Home and contents insurance - inform your insurer of the business operating out of your home. Your policy probably require you to tell them and it may well have consequences - people visiting the premises is the challenge. There have been recent examples of insurers refusing to pay out due to...

Should frequent flyer status be easier or harder to earn?

A bit of an oxymoron under Australian tax regime.

    What cheeses me off

potentially a misinterpretation as well. Credit cards cost the merchant in ways other forms of payment don't. Australian merchants can just now add their fees to accept and pass through credit cards costs where perhaps other countries still don't allow that?

    What cheeses me off

There's a fundamental difference between using a credit card to buy something and refinancing or redrawing, or borrowing on a loan. You're not talking about the same thing. Credit cards agree upfront there's no interest if you pay by the due date whereas a loan you've agreed to pay a fee...

Jetstar removes the 787 from the Melbourne to Bali

Perhaps they do. Replacing 737s with A32x has to be a step forward when they roll through the domestic fleet. Internationally, just fly with someone else!

British Airways Moves Frequent Flyer Earn to Revenue Model

Neither frequent flyer or loyalty anymore. Just a private currency that can be earned almost anywhere and burned almost anywhere and the airline just clips the ticket on every transaction.

Why don't governments put up taxes instead of interest rates?

But there in lies the dilemma on how retirement is funded, particularly when such properties are held in instruments related to super. It's always the problem that no one knows how long they will live for, but certain incentives for retirement saving should come with an expectation that they are...

Why don't governments put up taxes instead of interest rates?

But that's why when rates are rising you might fix the bit you know you don't have any hope of paying off and maintain a variable proportion with offset and early repayment opportunity to get ahead as far as you can

Why don't governments put up taxes instead of interest rates?

I'd also argue that whilst headline tax rates may be considered high, all the new utes on the road only come from everyone else paying more tax or higher service fees.

Why don't governments put up taxes instead of interest rates?

Income taxes may be high, sales tax (GST) is actually quite low.

Why don't governments put up taxes instead of interest rates?

Because that would require the government of the day to act. Interest rates rises are the RBA's only tool in the absence of government action.

QF A330 long haul in whY

I think they are one of the most under-rated and probably under utilised features of these seats (bring 178cm myself). Stretch your feet right into the net and let the top edge support your calfs.

    Qantas brand badly tarnished

I vaguely thought from previous advertising a few years ago that when Skytrax was running its survey anyone was able to go to their website and submit a survey for a flight. Could be completely wrong on that of course.

    What cheeses me off

They are still quoting 4-6 weeks but AusPost told me they were being processed in about 10 days. I got a message on business day 4 after submission that my passport was on its way back to me.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Isn't that the point though. QF is going after a niche - going from double daily A380s (eg MEL/SYD-LHR) to several times a week flying pencils. Their market is getting smaller as the demand gets bigger.
