Jetstar BNE - DPS is fine also. Daytime flight, pay a little extra for emergency exit, a couple of movies on the laptop and its done. I'd nearly even call it good. The return flight is terrible for the same reasons as you mention: 1/10.

Update regarding my troubles - The lady called the following day just giving an update saying she had waitlisted the suites flight the following day and would see if they could release the seats. I added that we were very flexible on the day we travel if it helps get some seats opened up...

I used Qantas to research CX availability. Maybe I got lucky but I found LAX(f)-HKG(j)-BNE, called and booked it. No trouble finding it and was a very easy process. That was booked late last year so maybe something has changed since.

Yeah there is an earlier flight that is the A380 now and also the next morning. Both are not showing seats at the saver level so I can't make the change online. I'll call and try and get them to move us to the earlier because they have swapped aircraft on us.
