Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion Thanks for the responses. I think I might just do CX F + J via Alaska miles instead. Life Miles is just too much of an unknown commodity - I'll give them a go when its a more guaranteed routing.

I'd go for the EK F/JL J if you see availability and save the SQ. That's not based on a product vs product though if that's what you are looking for.

Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion Need some opinions. I want to fly ORD-HND-BKK-SYD in F. ORD-SYD for my date returns ORD-NRT-SYD first then economy...not what I want. My itinerary is available searching leg by leg but the BKK stopover would be ~10 hours. Would I screenshot...

A RTW study tour, mostly on Star Alliance

Phone/electronic device use is allowed gate to gate by the FAA these days. Tray table out with a laptop on it I'd guess not. Laptop on lap I don't know?

For first class: SQ SYD-SIN-FRA-JFK is 152,000 KF miles + ~$200 AUD. EY SYD-AUH-JFK is 203,000 Velocity points + $600 USD + maybe some more taxes. Availability on EY was great for the dates I wanted. One date I wanted with SQ was available. Last week booking in November so didn't expect to...

Wow so I could even add a JFK-ORD throw away leg so get a 25,000 pts saving with a tiny bit extra $? Top info. I was under the impression under the *A redemption even the SQ legs would have the old taxes.

Thanks for that. I've booked SYD-SIN-FRA-JFK (mentioned a page ago) and was thinking why don't I try change the FRA-JFK to LH so I can take a Porsche for a spin, hit the first class terminal for a whisky+cigar and then try out a new airline. Obviously it'll have to be close in for the availability.

What are peoples thoughts SQ Suites vs Lufthansa F on FRA-JFK who have flown both? Doesn't have to be that specific route I guess.

Found Saver F/Suites SYD-SIN-FRA-JFK for the day before I need...close enough as far as I'm concerned. Now to keep checking my account for the Citi points transfer to come... Much better redemption than SYD-AUH-JFK on EY at 203,000 velocity + $600 USD seat fees + any other taxes on top. Loads...

$1210 J class round trip on PR MEL/SYD to S.E Asia

For travel in say Nov should I expect the A330 to be in use on the SYD-MNL leg or safer to fly via MEL? I'd have to position for either so doesn't really matter to me either way...

Just pick up a little container of soy milk from the airport if possible. You'd think most airlines would cater for lactose intolerance these days.

This laptop travel ban makes me feel less safe as a frequent flyer - here is why

Because that is the ideal arrangement where a fire in the cargo hold would cause an emergency diversion. However with intelligence of a threat to use a bomb hidden in a laptop the risk profile flips to preferable for a fire to occur in the cargo hold and divert than for an explosion in the...

Waitlist what you want while you have the required points then book the confirmed flight (which then takes the points). Waitlist a few days if you have the flexibility. Then if/when one of the waitlisted opens up I believe you can just cancel the confirmed J and take the waitlisted F. The points...
