Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

Don't get me wrong, I agree. Regional flying needs to continue and the frontline staff would be part of that with a new operator. The more that gets revealed, the more Rex stinks.

Have Virgin cancelled the 'Fly Ahead' benefit again?

Would be good but I can see why they might be hesitant. It does import some additional liability on to VA in the case of the last flight of the day being cancelled.

Qantas' Impending Change to Tokyo Flight Schedule

They have limited widebody aircraft, I just can't see it. Singapore can't be downgauged either.

Qantas' Impending Change to Tokyo Flight Schedule

Perth Haneda isn't happening. At best they do Narita but ANA's service hasn't been an amazing success has it?

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

Can't even be bothered calling. Did a bigger "review" of the offers I've used and not used lately, to be brutally honest there's nothing in the past 24 months worth really writing home about. Surprised I kept the card this long really - 20k points would hardly be worth it.

Six million people a year would use train to Melbourne Airport

They already have the best connection with the 901 at Broadmeadows.

Six million people a year would use train to Melbourne Airport

The travel times are only absurd because of the way the government has decided it must be built and funded.

Fraud on Velocity Frequent Flyer accounts

A lot has changed since 2020 and the collapse, I'm sure the accounts for Virgin when public are still out there. It's not hard to see how the company is now profitable. Workforce disagreement with management is a tale as old as time. Whether legitimate gripes or not

Batik Air (Indonesia) to start Bali-Canberra

You won't see my flying with them. The first flight didn't go so well. https://www.atsb.gov.au/media/news-items/2024/preliminary-report-details-passenger-737-flight-below-minimum-safe-altitude-near-canberra

    Armoured Vehicle Flown PER-BME?

Sounds implausible. A consignment of cash with accompanying guard(s) to supervise loading and offloading would be plausible. high value cargo travels via civilian aircraft regularly in NW WA.

    Virgin Australia Delays/Cancellations

Combination of all. Some alternates were under weather threat as well - eg VA had MEL-LST had to return to MEL. Two other diversions I know of last night were Vietjet after two attempts went to Canberra for fuel then returned successfully. Cebu Pacific had two attempts then flew to BNE and...

    New Amex statement credits

I have saved $15 this calendar year. Going to cancel today, AMEX is nowhere near what it used to be.

Have Virgin cancelled the 'Fly Ahead' benefit again?

Agreed with all posts above. Specifically state your status when asking. I have initially been knocked back at the airport before prior to reminding the staff member of the benefit and it then clicked - I think she must have been relatively new. The kiosks will only offer you fly ahead within...

    Velocity reinstates Singapore Airlines redemptions

An ultra premium in demand route (for the airlines still flying there) and you're wondering why it's hard to get J award seats with 9 days notice? I think expectations need to be managed here.

What's with QF291 - Why is it perennially delayed?

It would have various connections off early morning arrivals, it may have been less to do with QF291 itself but delays to other inbounds.

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

My personal opinion is that MEL-PER will absolutely be a part of this. I know not available on domestic yet but the sheer lack of close in X availability despite the entry red E deal fare available for sale points to an obvious conclusion...just imho

    Velocity Platinum Complimentary Upgrades

It was a temporary promo, long since gone away I'm afraid.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

Was there any ever concrete info from VA as to the MAX 10 order? There were rumours about swapping some or all to the -8 but I cannot recall anything definitive.
