Fraud on Velocity Frequent Flyer accounts

2FA is clearly necessary, but something weird is going on. It can't be that so many members are compromised by chance. Sophisticated phishing?

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

I am a regular MEL-PER, only one non-divider aircraft and there were a handful who tried the front loo but turned away promptly by crew. Haven't seen someone try to remove the magnetic rope since pre-covid times. It was a good system. Usually row 3 so I get a good view.

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

Still better value than the Skybus at a whopping $40 return walk up fare.

Virgin Australia orders 8 Embraer E190-E2 jets for delivery from 2025

Problem with the E90 vs A320 is hold space. Lots of freight and luggage on the Island flights

Virgin Australia orders 8 Embraer E190-E2 jets for delivery from 2025

Bain are pulling the purse strings still, I think fair to say if this didn't stack up financially it wouldn't be done.

Virgin Australia orders 8 Embraer E190-E2 jets for delivery from 2025

It's a complicated mixed fleet answer to a pretty complicated question. Given these will be initially dedicated (mostly) to the charter market the economics are a bit different.

Virgin Australia orders 8 Embraer E190-E2 jets for delivery from 2025

Oh I agree totally. I loved the e-jets. Bring back the MEL-KGI-PER rotation!

Virgin Australia orders 8 Embraer E190-E2 jets for delivery from 2025

I guess it makes sense given the F100s are no longer around to compete against. But it does give you a little scary feeling of dejavu...

Discounts for Buying a New Sony Phone?

Telstra or Boost. Either/or, both give you the full whack of Telstra's network.

Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

I agree, but I do think there was/is something rotten at Rex and while the industry is rather cyclical in the sense that the same people often reappear, a refresh would also probably do those same regional communities good in the longer run.

Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

I've given up reading about Rex, it's such a farce. At least Bonza were trying something different while being farcical. My general feeling is that management believed all they were missing to be successful was every ingredient required to run a successful airline.

In Flight Wifi availability [Virgin Australia]

Have found video streaming to be hit & miss but generally better in 2024 than 2023. I mostly fly MEL-PER though so the extent of the southerly track probably has a significant effect on coverage.

Alan Joyce to leave Qantas immediately

Hazard pay for doing the illegal bidding of the board? I'm joking. Or am I? Accountability is hard to come by, that is certain.

Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

Problem with nexus (who as a new operator seem to be doing OK) goes back to other talk in this thread about regional services. They have a small fleet, so will need capital to expand and only Q400s - quite possible that ALH & EPR will see a reduced frequency as a consequence.

All anyone had to do was load up a seat map. Or send Jayne a link to a certain thread on AFF.
