Agree, but way crowded at the time of night transit is from MEL-SIN. Actually preferred the Priority pass options I had last time I flew economy, but maybe that was because I was absolutely stuffed from the J flight I just got off. ;).

I booked MEL- SIN - CDG with a combination of points and dollars for myself and Mrs Tassieoptom. Neglected to book domestic legs before and after at the time, nearly forgot entirely, but booked VA HBA-MEL ret about 4-6 weeks prior. Sorry for confusion.

I had a month to use 4 upgrade to business vouchers so used them for a set of flights I would never pay for business. I.e. HBA-MEL return. This was the domestic legs of a J trip with SQ. Meals were breakfast and brunch respectively, and I was quite impressed.
