    Velocity to KrisFlyer Transfer

Basically yes. We booked reward tickets recently and the charges for the outbound leg on QF were ~$600, inbound on SQ (booked via velocity) ~$150 (2 pax) Had I booked through SQ direct, the charges were similar (can't remember exactly, the points premium made it worthwhile)

    Velocity to KrisFlyer Transfer

Well, if the same tickets are available for fewer points... ummmm... yup, I’d take the fewer point option! I wouldn’t consolidate your points until you know where you want to spend them. Give them a call.

    Velocity to KrisFlyer Transfer

I’m not really sure what your question is.... Have you called velocity to check availability, or are you relying on the accuracy of the website?

Virgin Money Flyer 60,000/High Flyer 120,000, $129 flight voucher, annual fee $64/289

I find Citi great for churning as they are cheap, point arrive fast and they don’t bench you for too long between applications. I’ve held two Citi managed cards at a time, but never tried more than that. I know I’ve written this before, but I’ve applied for the high flyer within a very short...

Hate to admit it but CX just trumped SQ

It was Mumm last November in each of the three J lounges we tried. Moët in SQ F Melb last month I think? (Squealing Pig Pinot Gris was disappointing!)

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

High praise! And looks delish. I always play ‘what would I have ordered?’ So I love it when people post the menu first before the pics. (thank you for entertaining me!) However, I can’t line up your main with the menu- what was it?

Credit Card Offers Amex Explorer Offers & Discussion

Interesting. Only a few months ago I applied for one using my husband’s surname & my DL number (I retained my name so DL is in my maiden name as is all my ID). Card arrived 5 days later, no call, no issue. Maybe using the same surname of the primary cardholder is the key? Or maybe they expect...

5000 Bonus Points for Additional Cardholder

If the email was sent to you for that card, yep, you should be fine. They’re often targeted, so if you applied via someone else’s offer, or a link for another card, then not likely.

It’ll appear on yours (but you’ll see which card was used for each transaction)

5000 Bonus Points for Additional Cardholder

My husband also received this (5000 points after $500 spend) for his explorer today

Bankwest Qantas World MC 90k bonus, $6k spend in 3 months, $135 first year annual fee, exp 31 August 2019

Card finally arrived today. Does anyone know if water bills count towards min spend & earn points? I can’t see a clear answer. TIA!

Credit Card Offers Amex Explorer Offers & Discussion

Same here, except my husband holds, I have a supp (or 3!) to his card & I churn. Recently learnt how valuable the explorer is when the insurance painlessly took care of a $4500 rental car excess. For a card which essentially costs $0, it’s a keeper for one of us. I reckon the hold vs churn...

    Handling overbooked flights

Yup, I understood that. I’m puzzled why they held a seat for one status pax and not another, despite apparently checking in a lower status pax (assuming the 2 y/o isn’t gold or platinum) first?

    Handling overbooked flights

Not sure why you quoted me? I deliberately didn’t make any judgement, let alone suggest it was ‘scandalous’. Daughter is two, was bumped- ergo bumped 2 year old.

    Handling overbooked flights

I don't understand- they are holding a seat for another unchecked in gold member (which they offerred to your now bumped 2 year old) but not you? Can you buy a seat for a 2y/o on a single booking?? Sounds stressful, but also a weird turn of events.

Loyalty programs - worse than cigarettes or crack cocaine.

This is interesting. My 'loyalty' program is velocity as that's who we fly for work, and therefore a boost towards earning status. I'll churn QFF points when they're cheap & easy, and on reflection get better value out of these (most recently easily winning when the cost of points + tax in F is...

Loyalty programs - worse than cigarettes or crack cocaine.

(My bolding) Holistically, yes- I agree with you. But on an individual level, no- I think it is possible to ‘win’ at the loyalty game, but likely that comes at the expense of other less diligent? don’t care? consumers. I think this was 33kft’s point.

Free Free - Two P1 QF lounge digital passes (First Class lounge included) expiring 31/05/2020

Nice offer, ecst! We’ve just booked our first ever Qantas F flight - and the opportunity to try the lounge was what convinced me to skip over the J flight offering. Hope the lucky winner will look forward to it as much as I am!
