    CitiBank Priority Pass at Birmingham

If you have a Citi Prestige credit card, your Priority Pass membership should let you both into most lounges at no extra cost. And then - if you have enough time - you can trawl between multiple lounges for food.

    Earn points on Bank Transfers

Ahh, but they're still busy to this day collating the piles of customer feedback requesting - nay demanding - higher annual fees!

To drink or not to drink

Or, if it helps you to fall asleep at all on a plane, then poor sleep is better than no sleep at all. I just haven't been able to sleep on long-haul flights in economy, but haven't tried drinking grog either. Maybe a couple of drinks would help.

    2025 travel plans

To kick off retirement, 10 weeks in Greece island hopping, 3 weeks in Vietnam on a tour. Then maybe 4 weeks in New Zealand at the end of the year, but that'll probably be January or February 2026.

    Article: Priority Pass Lounge Guide

If you have two people flying under a Citibank Prestige Priority Pass membership, how does the $36 benefit at eateries work if you have a guest flying with you? Is it $36 + $36 across two bills, or $72 for the two of you on the one bill?

    China Eastern's Sydney-Auckland flight

Very similar experience flying with them last month, albeit to/from China (Wuhan outbound, ex Nanjing inbound). Economy in an A330. The legroom was ok (I'm 195cm). Initially sitting down, the seat for both flights felt hard. But for a 11-12 hour flight it was actually fine. One flight was on...

Experience using Citibank credit card insurance?

Hi brains trust. I'm retiring in a few months, and looking at a 'forever' credit card (well, forever until T&Cs inevitably change!). Once my salary goes, it'll be harder to apply for a nice card with a decent limit. I hear they don't rate rental and dividend income too favourably. Anyhow. The...

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

What's the deal with transferring from Qantas Sydney domestic to Sydney international for Qantas? There's the gate 15 domestic transfer (hopefully comes regularly). And then assume it just lumps you at security and you go through the whole process again with carry-on, etc?

    Qantas Points Club Discussion

Hmm. Both my wife and I re-reached Points Club ages ago (me about 2 months ago, her about 6 months ago), and nothing. Used the old vouchers we got, but nothing since.

    Qantas Points Club Discussion

Has the location of the Points Club vouchers changed? I swear it used to sit under Points Club (https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/my-account/points-club.html), but now it's just information for what it is rather than wine/hotel vouchers (yes, I'm logged in).

Citi Prestige Unlimited Priority Pass Access: Can I Check-In Friends Separately?

Well, my experience was, sadly, different. I activated my Priority Pass in October. No problem. Then cancelled my Citi credit card in early November. Went to Sydney airport last week, used Priority Pass there - no problem. The visit appeared in my history the next day. Two days later...

    The Qantas brand is safe

The Qantas brand isn't "safe". It is at risk. If it continues to be a poor value proposition over the longer term, people will eventually give up and put their money elsewhere (assuming there is a consistently better alternative). What it has going is, I feel, that most people *want* their...

QFF Bonus Status Credits/Points gift on back of Aug 2023 profit

Redeemed for points on 30 August, got 5k points added 1 September, but not counted towards new Points Club total. But have had 41 other points added so the tally is updating. Oh well.

QFF Bonus Status Credits/Points gift on back of Aug 2023 profit

Hmm. QFF anniversary is 31 August. Points take "up to 4 business days" to land. If redeemed on 30 August when the offer ends, maybe QFF points would arrive in September... Could help towards another PC+... Offered 75SC/5000pt. Have done 2 rewards flights and 7 paid flights in the last 12...

    The Midlife Crisis thread

My 'crisis' came in my early 20s, realising that I hated my job, and that it wasn't as simple as just finding a different one. This is generally a high-achieving professional group of people, so many might not relate. But I hate(d) work full stop. The restriction of needing to be a certain...

Qatar denied extra capacity into Australia

From the Guardian today: "‘Ghost flights’: Qatar Airways flying near-empty planes in Australia to exploit legal loophole Qatar Airways has been flying near-empty, and sometimes entirely empty large passenger jets every day between Melbourne and Adelaide to exploit a loophole allowing it to run...
