Not sure what you have decided on but our experience in September was we struggled with 4 hours SYD domestic to International connection. Flight was on time but transfer bus across was crazy-busy, and passport/security was madness mid afternoon @L_MareeB We made it, but was a bit of a rush...

We stayed at Novotel Melbourne Airport recently as departing pax not arrivals. Upon check in, we were given a mobile number to call for the shuttle upon our return @Cynicor Pity you didn't have access to the number, it's no fun being tired after a trip.

We did go to Ballarat on Thursday @RooFlyer but my step tally on Saturday night was typically 100,000+ By Sunday, I had excelled myself apparently! (I usually do 14,000, with 20,000 on a good day!)

Thanks @kpc agree, was using it as a entry point to go to Halong Bay. My other thought is we just concentrate on what we want/holiday/beach time and go in/ out SGN - though seems a waste to go so far and do so little!

Looking to travel to Vietnam in July to escape our Victorian winter. (I read the weather can be wet, even monsoons.) Ideally flying QF into Hanoi and out from Ho Chi Minh but appears unable to book this via QF website. Is this something I would need to do through a TA? Loose plan at present...
