    My wife and I were both on a paid J tickets and her sister on a classic rewards J all separate bookings linked together so maybe they saw that and kept us all together. The CR bookings were when Alan Joyce released a whole bunch as an apology Was a fun flight.

    Agree, I think Y+ is worth the points, although I'm not sure I'd pay dollars for it. One further case for paid Y+ though is increased chances of a J upgrade.     I find PE better than Y, particularly in the bulkhead seats. 7 across instead of 9, a little more recline, quieter cabin, better food etc. However no substitute for J :)

    That would be interesting. I've never had a gate upgrade once an original upgrade went trough. I've also regularly noticed multiple unused J seats with when disembarking. I guess they could be inoperable. Would love to know more about the dark art of QF upgrade policy.

    Partial success 20/1 QF93 MEL - LAX Economy -> PE at T-21 as a WP J upgrade still remains elusive after 10ish attempts. Seems much harder post COVID even with the A380's return. There were 9+ J seats available 24 hours ago. I wonder if their policies have changed.

    110k kms for me supposedly putting me in the top 10% of Platinum flyers. Shame about the MEL-LAX upgrade track record in 2022. 5/7 to W+, 0/7 to J. A380's can't return soon enough.
