Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

At RPA, was told not to worry about the actual appointment time, "just come anytime"! I suspect that may be the reason why the waiting time was so long compared to Olympic Park.

Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

Yesterday morning at RPAH Pfizer hub. Took nearly two hours. Definitely not as quick as Olympic Park.

I think you can definitely change it.

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

The booking system for the Pfizer vaccine in NSW is really not very user- friendly. There is really no way of knowing which of the centres is available first. You basically have to pick one centre, then do the whole registration process (10 minutes or so), before you can get to the appointments...

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

I have only seen some facebook ads. Basically stating vaccinations have started and they are voluntary. Pathetic.

Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

For me (40s) in NSW, both Pfizer appointments were made online at the same time.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

My understanding was that they were waiting for the roll out their own locally developed vaccines, supposedly in July 2021. Hence the available AZ was not very popular (prior to current outbreak)

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

No, no special occupation. Came via email. I did register my interest very early though, probably before midday Monday.

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

I registered my interest for Pfizer Vax (age 40-49) on Monday. Not in any higher risk category. Just received an invitation to book appointment at Olympic vaccination centre. Pretty much can choose any time, so it's not a case of leftover vaccines.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

That's wonderful. If they can maintain such low numbers after opening up, that will be even better.

Totally agree. Cannot see Novavax being the answer here.

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

The govt needs to get more Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, ASAP. For me, even if Novavax is approved, I am not going to be confident about it. It has not been widely used anywhere, so who is to say they are not going to discover something. Definitely cannot be compared to Pfizer/Moderna vax...

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

Strange that over 50M doses ordered for Novavax and AZ, yet only 10M Pfizer. That is not exactly covering all bases.

    General COVID-19 Vaccine Discussion

    General COVID-19 Vaccine Discussion

Just that the USA is as selfish, if not more than everyone else. Blanket ban on all vaccine exports. Where is the condemnation?

    General COVID-19 Vaccine Discussion

With the current discussion about Italy and France banning exports of vaccines, somehow our very "special friend", the USA seems to have missed out on our scorn. I read they are not even exporting to Canada. Moral of the story: there is no such things as friends. You can only really depend on...

Use of QR codes for COVID-19 contact tracing in Australia

My experience in Sydney is most places seem to have a QR code, but practically no one scans it at all. Except when dining in.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Exactly. Singapore and Taiwan has home quarantine, for at least some travellers.
