Hmm, I'm looking at July and couldn't see anything (except for economy). Also a pain to go via CBR - seems that is the only routing with some business, as you have found. Also just checked this and it doesn't show on AA. Nothing is showing on AA right now.

It's not just Qantas that has no QR availability though. I cannot see any on BA or AA.

So seat alert didn’t help - none were opened at all. But service desk assisted in getting an aisle bulkhead before (a delayed) departure.

Booked in Y on QF11 tomorrow SYD-LAX, departing 10.15am. I don't have status and have just checked in - assigned a middle seat. Unfortunately when I try and change seats, all seats are shown as unavailable. On checking ExpertFlyer, I can see many are still showing as blocked, including the one...

AKL-SYD on QF148 Butter chicken (not sure the other choices as I didn’t get an option). Was quite good. Service was excellent - very attentive and constant top-ups. Good flight overall.

You can call but it is highly likely SQ won't show the availability and not permit them to be linked.

If you book them separately, they will be separate award tickets - so likely a higher rate than all the way through. SQ use married segments. That is why you see different availability.

OOL-SYD - same food on offer as Thursdays flight the other way. Got the cajun chicken this time. Was fine. Sequence was 2A/C, then us in 1A/C, then 1D/F and then 2D/F. Attendant was good - topped us up and was proactive offering other snacks.

Wish they would reinstate the transfer of points too. Few thousand KF short of a RTW redemption.

Your entire reply was very useful thanks as someone relatively new to Virgin. One minor note I’ll add, and it may well be an exception, when they ran out of Cajun chicken yesterday (all six passengers prior chose it), and we were offered the vegetarian option I previously posted, the cabin crew...

Sequence was 2D/F and then 2A/C (but practically may have just gone row two first, because it was a family of four with the parents seated in D and F), and then 1D and 1F (not sure if they were companions), leaving us in 1A/C. Fly back Sunday and will let you know the sequence for the return.

SYd-OOL today. I didn’t get the Cajun chicken option (despite 1A, as a lowly red obviously others got first choice). So it was a brown rice Asian vegetable salad option. But it was quite nice regardless.

Okay - thank you both. I did check seat map too and saw that all were showing assigned. Didn’t know if that meant actually assigned or blocked. I wasn’t aware of the turnaround flight so as it’s selling that is comfort as well. Thanks again! Panic over.

So I am due to fly on VA519 at 12.20 tomorrow from SYD-OOL. We have checked in okay. I note it’s completely zeroed out on ExpertFlyer (image attached) and not on sale either. Seems odd that it is completely full? Is there a chance this is going to be cancelled?

Still some Saver availability from Brisbane and Christchurch but nothing to or from Sydney :(

SYD-LST on 717 - 24 Jan - flight departed at 11.15. I had the Cornish pastie, partner had the salad. Pastie was awful. Saved partially by the chutney. Service was good. HBA-SYD 994 at 12.05 I had the pork with potatoes. Partner had the beef brisket with corn cakes. Mine was actually okay...
