Trans Tasman - remember when JetConnect crews were the best?

In contrast I have flown 8 TT sectors since July, 4 on A330 and 4 on 737 to mostly Syd and Mel. 3/4 A330 sectors in J, all 737 in Y (row 4 each time) To be honest, the service I've had from the jetconnect 737 crew was miles better than the mainline crew on A330. In row 4 I was often greeted...

American Airlines - AKL - USA (via Dallas) ~ 6700 NZD return NOV/DEC

I know this isn't the deal of the century but in the context of rather ridiculous J fares to Europe/USA, this is quite a good steal AA flying AKL-DFW daily from 1/11/22 - end of march I think - seasonal route with their 787-9 with super diamond J seats Fare Basis: IJE0ASN5 No cancellations...

Flight advice: MEL to ORD business class v premium econ options on OW

If I had to pick, the business class by far ... Premium economy overnight you're still upright...so you have 14 hour upright overnight, then an upright red-eye on a US domestic flight...if you get an oasis config plane your knees will be jammed. Is AA an option ? Their prices to LAX seem to be...

FINNAIR Schedule change 2022/2023 - impact on Rewards Bookings

I don't want to sound like a Qantas apologist (since a lot of recent things annoy me), but effectively Qantas here is acting as a travel agent no? Therefore they will have to stick to whatever the schedule change rules are that Finnair publishes for route disruptions. Qantas can't magically...

FINNAIR Schedule change 2022/2023 - impact on Rewards Bookings

I had a schedule change last night with an AY U class booking. Got the email direct from AY since I made sure my details were on the AY website. Then went onto QF website, clicked accept changes (5 min change lol), new e-ticket in my inbox within an hour. It works well usually if it's done online

Qantas to Launch SYD-AKL-JFK (June 2023)

Lounge is generous Fiona....it's more a closet with ice cream. The last few times I've been in the last month I actually ended up going out to the business side because a) more seats were available (zoo inside the WP bit) b) the barista was on the business side

Qantas to Launch SYD-AKL-JFK (June 2023)

Though the current WP closet really isn't anything to write home about !

Qantas to Launch SYD-AKL-JFK (June 2023)

I mean technically it’s out of Auckland isn’t it? SYD/BNE/MEL all connect reasonably to QF3/4

Qantas to Launch SYD-AKL-JFK (June 2023)

If the current schedules maintain then it opens up a lot of opportunities really since QF3 leaves Auckland around 1700 hours From Melbourne you will have QF151 (ARR 1445) From Brisbane you will have QF119 (ARR 1445) The issue will be Perth since there is no PER-AKL direct this season

Qantas to Launch SYD-AKL-JFK (June 2023)

I remember that with QF25/26 yeah. Absolute pain. Interestingly some D/I fares available, but not significantly cheaper than NZ in all honesty at this stage Looks like 10980 NZD for the 90 day adv purchase I fare on the direct route … compared with 8760NZD for AKL-SYD-LAX/DF—NYC quite a...

Qantas to Launch SYD-AKL-JFK (June 2023)

Plenty of U class / business reward for the entirity of QF3/4 from Sydney. However, none available for AKL-NYC by itself

    Collecting QFF points in NZ

There really aren’t too many options. I have a grandfathered ANZ Qantas Visa Platinum which I use for day to day purchases where my Amex isn’t accepted. Though points earn is arguably quite rubbish. 1 QFF per $1 spent up until $20,000 per annum. Then 1 QFF per $2 spent after that 2 QFF per $1...

QF points earn - AA flights ex-AKL

That's my thought too. However I was semi hoping it would be a special arrangement like the old AKL-LAX route that AA operated pre pandemic that gave 160SC/20000 points in J

QF points earn - AA flights ex-AKL

I'm in the process of planning yet another work trip and trying to actually figure out points/SC earn on a sector that well, isn't even listed on the QF calculator so it isn't very useful to me. As we all know, there is the AA/QF joint venture which has always led to even AA marketed and sold...

Who's on the A380 Syd to LA in the next few days ?

QF12 last night (5/8) was 14/15 in F, 100% full on J, 30~40% in W— so very premium heavy filled on the A380 at the moment

Who's on the A380 Syd to LA in the next few days ?

It's all zeros because it's also fill to the brim in all classes. I took 93 over to lax last wed send premium classes full. I'm on 12 back on Friday so hopefully it stays 388. I keep getting emails to bid for a J to F upgrade but it's F0A0 lol But isn't the 3 days of a388 because there is only...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF 93 menu for the late flight out of Melbourne Other bits and pieces. First Spa in MEL Flounge is open 5-9pm only at the moment. Didn't taste food, went straight to sleep since the flight has rather odd timing and lands you into LAX at 1830 so to beat jetlag you want to be up 2nd half of...

How long for QANTAS to reissue e-tickets?

In the last few weeks I finally got round to accepting a Finnair time change on a business reward ticket online. New ticket with updated ticket number within 2 hours. Yesterday qantas changed one of my paid work flights to cause misconnect. Took 3 calls to cape town to speak to someone who...
