Qantas/Australia Post jet stuck at HBA?

On arrival on Saturday, landed from the North then taxied in via D and H, then I think G to A to F to get around another aircraft pushing back and take their spot. Was quite the zig zag!

Qantas/Australia Post jet stuck at HBA?

I think additional issue may be the current taxiway works, as they have shut part of Taxiway A (I think) while it is upgraded, we actually taxied through 'H' to zig zag our way to the apron

Qantas/Australia Post jet stuck at HBA?

Noticed the same thing the other day, it was the midday rush and there was a jet waiting for probably 10mins for a ‘gate’ unfortunately the one I was waiting to board… Surely this has to be high on the list of an issue to fix. Especially heading toward busy summer season

    Amex - Access Line

We used to use it for Forex payments, as could earn great points on paying suppliers overseas. But now Accessline is domestic only, we are only using it at the moment for the bonus @elanshin posted above. Not worth the hassle/fee otherwise normally. There was the same bonus across the Platinum...

    New Luggage Recommendations

A similar product I can recommend is the Macpac Global 80 L, two wheels, solid base, concealed shoulder harness https://www.macpac.com.au/macpac-global-80l-travel-bag/118889.html Feels bigger than 80L, has nice deep and semi-rigid walls and doesn't taper too much. We bought one earlier in the...

    Travelling with a new born

Concur with @blackcat20, starts easy and get harder before they (I assume) will get easier again 6 months: Cant go anywhere, cant do much, ideal for planes! 12 months: He wasn't walking quite yet, but still pretty mobile crawling. If he wasn't in the bassinet, I had him in a front pack on me...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Hope they recover quickly That is a long stint for all the passengers.. Assuming they stay on board in MEL, will be about 24 hours in the seat if they land in JNB at the new scheduled time!

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Some very rough google mapping: At point they turned around (according to FR24) it was ~2,200km to HBA and ~2,500km to MEL, so ~20minutes flying Yeah not sure how that adds in to the calculus when it is going to be ~4hrs back either way Google tells me its just long enough.. Not sure I trust...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

QF63 has turned back to MEL about 4 hours after departing SYD Edit: QF flight status has it arriving in MEL at 1730 and departing again at 1930, could be medical diversion?

    Book the Cook

Had the grilled beef a couple weeks ago. Probably slightly above average for a plane steak, biggest critique was not a lot of sauce. Would order again though

odd message from Singapore Air when managing bookings

Security was fine, maybe 15mins. Then we took about 45-60mins to get through passport control as had to visit a desk as had baby, and they only had two guys on duty and they looked like they were being trained, so on go slow. Eventually a third turned up and started rattling through them...

odd message from Singapore Air when managing bookings

Had the same one also, when leaving from AMS, with no email notification. I ended up moving our flights to one day later to give us a bit more time at the end of the trip, and all worked well! No issues (also redemption J tickets)

Virgin Atlantic Rewards Booking with Child

Well this didn’t work like advertised. Online check in the day before didn’t work, but didn’t read a lot into it as first time on KLM and on a rewards ticket. Went to check in at VCE and the KLM agent said there was a problem with the child’s ticket, you need to call Virgin Atlantic as the...

    eSims, what is your experience.

Have been using Orange Flex from Poland for the last 6wks in France/Italy/Netherlands and has been great, can recommend. As detailed here previously can get first month for 1PLN (30cents or thereabouts), using promo code FLEX, which can get you up to about 17GB of EU data. I renewed for a...

Article: Amex Adds Virgin Atlantic to Membership Rewards Gateway Program

Good stuff. Have a VS redemption coming up from VCE to AMS on KLM. Couldn’t get economy at (from memory) 4,500 points but Europe Business at 9,000 plus about $40 pp also seemed like great value, considering the direct cash fares available

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

Well it took another two weeks but finally reunited! Restaurant very kindly sent it on to where I thought it would have plenty of time to arrive… but it didn’t make it in time (Shoutout to La Sifflotte in Paris for a great meal and sending on without accepting any payment) Luckily we were...
