Amex has a 2 in 90 day rule. They usually don't approve more than 2 cards in a 90 day period.

The main purpose of HSBC US checking account is to get a US address proof remotely. For account opening you can ask your AU Premier RM to open the US account for you or you can open one yourself by applying online.
