Buying iPhone 15 at Sydney airport Duty Free

Couple more tips, for the extra patient /extra stingy: Around Xmas time, Coles typically sells Visa gift cards with a ±5% discount. These cards can be used at Woolies to buy the Apple Gift cards when they run the 20x points promo. Depending on the Apple Product, sometimes the Apple EDU store...

Buying iPhone 15 at Sydney airport Duty Free

It can be even better.... As others have mentioned, can also get Apple gift cards, with the 20x points / 10% back. If you time it right, can buy from Apple online using Cashback sites like Cashrewards, when a promo has the Cashback between 5 - 8 % (most recent was 5% on 13 June) You can enter...

    Indonesian Visa Discussion (Including Bali)

For Aussies, if you do the eVOA, Tourist Levy and Customs Declaration online before travelling, it is now really fast at the Airport. When arriving in Bali, you can ignore the Immigration counters and the long queues and head to the left and directly to the electronic passport gates. Quick and...

Best lounge in Singapore with dragon pass?

We used the T3 Ambassador Lounge in January 2024. It is very cramped, overcrowded, and has a terrible choice of eats. Never again. When we left, despite it being overcrowded, they were still selling entrance to anyone willing to pay.

Article: How to Stop Airlines Losing Your Checked Baggage

Perhaps things have changed... JAL's website https://www.jal.com/en/flight/safety/airport/baggage.html Shows that electronic items with less than 2g of lithium are allowed in checked baggage. Since the airtags with ±0.1g of lithium are only one-twentieth of this amount, they would now be permitted.

Article: Best Credit Cards for Overseas Travel & Online Shopping

Recently returned from a trip to the USA. When using the free Macquarie Transaction account MC Debit card to purchase stuff from Walmart, you are offered the option to get cash out. The cash is provided fee-free and using the MC rate. Walmarts are everywhere, so very easy to get US cash if you...

    Indonesian Visa Discussion (Including Bali)

If I can add: 1)Download and set up the bluebird App. Works great. 2) ATM cash typically better rate than money changers. 3) For mobile, add an esim to your phone. Many out there, I use Airalo. Just Download the app and you can set it up in advance. Very cheap, and starts to work the minute you...

Has anyone tried Lemon Mobile Esim yet?

I made the assumption that the OP was not planning to cancel their local Aussie service, but rather to ADD an eSim. I guess that was not totally clear from the original post.

Has anyone tried Lemon Mobile Esim yet?

AFAIK, adding an eSim is the easiest way to keep your Aussie number, without incurring expensive roaming fees. In the same way that your phone generally works overseas when connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot, (i.e. data works, phone calls don't, but, WhatsApp / Facetime audio calls do) adding an ESIM...

    eSims, what is your experience.

Thanks, good to know other telcos do this too. 😃

    eSims, what is your experience.

Also, I discovered that with Amaysim, when travelling, incoming SMS's are free, no international roaming needed. I am not sure if other Aussie Telco's offer this. I believe at $170 per YEAR, (150GB) they are one of the cheapest options out there. If you choose to move your phone number to them...

    eSims, what is your experience.

I have previously used Airalo eSims in Indo, USA, & Mexico all with no problems. Last month, I went to Bali, and 28º degree Mastercard offers a free Fexiroam eSim, so I tried that. Despite being a geek, I could not get it to work. Their tech support was useless too. Went back to Airalo, and once...

Is Citi Plus still the best option for overseas cash?

Do not know the exact answer, but: Just returned from Bali, and tried to use a Ubank spend card in a CIMB ATM to draw cash. ATM wanted to change a 12% fee. From the same ATM, used a Citi Debt card, and no fee charged.

Is Citi Plus still the best option for overseas cash?

My answer would be yes. I have just returned from Bali and successfully used my CitiPlus debit card to withdraw cash from a CIMB ATM. No ATM or Exchange rate fees were charged. The exchange rate was the MC rate. Also got an email from Citi/NAB relating to the conversion to NAB debit card over...
