IB is the same group as BA, and BA has almost completely cut off long haul award availability to other OW airlines. IB may have done something similar.

PC was never aimed at passengers with high status. You already get benefits that far exceed what PC offers. PC was about offering something small to people who did not fly much, presumably in the hope of encouraging them to fly more and get real status.

But if you’re PC+ you don’t get lounge passes when to reach the PC threshold en route to requalification.

On my dummy booking it maxed out at 318,000 so it either counted the third HEL as a stopover or ignored it, but it didn't trigger a third transit problem.

The specific issue I have is that I want to pick up in HEL after a ground sector - so technically no stay in HEL. I managed (eventually) to find similar flights to do a dummy booking and it capped out at 318,000 miles. I'm not a great fan of JL because as a non-status passenger I can't reserve...

Good suggestion which I would never have thought of. Yes, it maxes out. It also demonstrates that the QF agent has badly inflated the taxes.

I am constructing a OWA. My route so far is: MEL-CMB-DEL-HEL-LHR LHR-HEL-GDN -ground sector- HEL-HND Both my first two routes transit in HEL. Will my third flight count as (a) a third transit in HEL; (b) a stop in HEL; or (c) not count as HEL at all? Grateful for wisdom.

If they are using 737 Max they should have called themselves Drop Bear Airlines. Maybe their USP could be fast landings.

I have never yet found a J route on Velocity that is remotely useful to me, not with SQ nor with any other airline. For example, I’d love to fly in J to Moscow on Saturday week. Any sensible route is blank for a fortnight before and after my preferred travel date - as it has been for ever...

SQ J availability vanishes ever so quickly with KrisFlyer so I guess there would be nothing left for Velocity.

Wouldn't the points get cleared almost immediately? Not an exact analogy but I had a bank card stolen in London and they racked up thousands of pounds within an hour.

2022 was quite exceptional - airlines were trying to get people to fly again after Covid. There may be another sale in the future but I would not use experience in 2022 to set any benchmarks.
