    Very helpful, thanks.

    Little things I like

I like summer fruit season. Currently harvesting from the garden: raspberries, strawberries, blueberries (difficult!), nectarines, peaches plus the usual lemons, limes and mandarins (oranges - 2 - came off last month). Plus rhubarb (stewed rhubarb on ice cream 😍 ), potatoes, garlic, peas &...

    2025 travel plans

Arrrrh! I've seen most or northern, southern and western Spain, except for Cordoba, which I always wanted to see. In August, I have 5 days devoted to around Barcelona (incl Tarragona) and 3 days of this was going to be up in the Pyrenees. Didn't think I could whip down to Cordoba as well, but...

    Tasmania aviation fund

$5mill to attract international flights (and additional domestic??) to Tas (now that HBA has had its runway lengthened, and strengthened). https://pulsetasmania.com.au/news/new-5-million-aviation-fund-to-attract-international-and-domestic-flights-to-tasmania/ Can't see it making much of a...

La Mer, le Canal & les Pyrénées

(apologies to JV for the minor thread hijack) It’s basically a sudsy massage as you lie on a marble slab. The most memorable part is the scrub. The glove they used is a bit abrasive and applied vigorously, at least for the guys! Very ritualistic.

    Hobart Qantas lounge

Same. I guess you mean travel arrangement assistance at the front desk? That wouldn't surprise me but for most punters it doesn't mitigate the permanent over crowding, awful toilets and basic buffet. I'm another who often sits in the gate lounge rather than the lounge.

How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

This sounded familiar. Ah, yes, from last November (my stay):

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

La Mer, le Canal & les Pyrénées

I must have gone past there a dozen times in the tram! This was my favourite hang-out, though. https://cagalogluhamami.com.tr/en/

Hadn't heard of it :(. Sounds interesting, although modern art isn't my thing. But if its a must-do, then it deserves a look. :)

    Carrying medications into Thailand

Sure, but I'd just be one of the thousands of dumb tourists carrying Codeine completely unaware of the regulations.

    Carrying medications into Thailand

In the context of this thread, they are looking at 'psychotropics' and 'narcotics' to be declared/controlled for entrants. See lists here: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/threads/permit-needed-for-medications-brought-to-thailand.112627/post-2777628

    2025 travel plans

Going to be in Copenhagen 21-22 August, prior to flying to Greenland (as you do ...) to pick up a cruise. Heading up to Elsinore for one day to look for my inner Yorick.

    Carrying medications into Thailand

Noted in my TR, but not here. I also presented myself in the red lane at BKK and proffered the Permit. Guy a bit puzzled at first then asked to see the codeine-containing medication. Then waved me on. I wouldn't bother again.

    QF28. Disturbed passenger.

Just a bit of class I think. Nice touch, not required but feeling for the pax who were negatively affected (I wouldn't like to be in the vicinity of someone being abusive for hours). @Mekanikel - just advise them to move on.

    Airspace safety over Iraq/Syria

The thing that surprises me about that track is that they went over Iraq and not Iran, for little shortening of the route. Iran has traditionally been allies with Qatar - not that political allegiances determine airline ops - but they do. Then they could have turned over Türkiye and be swell...

La Mer, le Canal & les Pyrénées

Gotta say Istanbul is one of my favourite world cities - certainly non western. If TK up their service from Oz (early reports say its a bit ragged ex Oz, which surprised me), I'll be stopping over there regularly, rather than going QR via DOH.
