After a quick look around I suggested that my wife and her cousin do some of the first stage of the Cape to Cape Walk. Her cousin did another, much more difficult, hike along another part of it the next day. They walked from the lighthouse to Sugarloaf Rock which is just under a 4 km walk. I...

Looking through my photos it is obvious that my phone has deleted a number of photos on its own volition. While it will probably make you happy that there are less photos to look at I am concerned that so many have disappeared. Early on in this TR I thought I was missing a few photos but wasn't...

    Australian Cricket Season 2024-2025

It is pretty early days yet but so far it seems that both sides have some excellent bowlers but not many, if any, in form batsmen. Currently India 150 and Australia 1/19 with Labuschagne struggling to get anything other than an edge on the ball. Sorry now 2/19. Oops 3/19

I had my own adventure with a very simple household device last night when I cooked some corned beef. We have had this pressure cooker for near enough to 50 years and last night was only the second time it has blown off the weight on the steam vent. There was no sound of it 'dancing' it just...

Doesn't anyone else use a Kenwood mixer these days? Our first one, with a white ceramic bowl, lasted over 40 years until our daughter dropped it on a tiled floor. I replaced it with a new one and it works fine.

Displaying the use of soapbush - you can see the lather the leaves produce. After Manjimup we took the back roads to cut through to Dunsborough. I was persuaded to use the GPS on the phone and naturally it sent us down a goat track gravel road to save about 5 km. The land...

We have been up it decades ago - when you could drive most of the way up. We tried the climb in 2021 but my knees gave up about halfway up when the track became pretty rocky and there was a bit of clambering to do. This climb was one of the hikes we tempted our friend from Germany with to come...

We then headed off to Dunsborough via the South Coast Highway. It would be close to 30 years since I have driven this way and I had forgotten how twisty and slow parts of it is. I let our German friend drive a fair portion of it and she really enjpyed the drive. Many people think that quokkas...
